I have a second PC power supply in my cabinet that I have intended on using for all of my lights. I currently have it hooked to my Marquee lights, but when I turn on the cabinet, the second power supply does not come on. Is there some trick to getting it to fire up without it being attached to a computer?

You have to jump the green wire to ground (any adjascent black wire) on the mobo connector.
-
So, pull out the green wire from
The mobo connector on that power supply and run it to any ground in the cab?
-
No you run it to a ground on the same connector that you pulled it out from. Second PS Ground.

This is how I do it on a PS I use for testing. The wire is held in place with some hot glue.

cool. Thanks.
So I did this, I pulled the two wires out and bound them together. Now when I flip everything on, the power supply lights up the lights for just a sec and then goes immediately off. I cut off all of the other wires on that connector, should I not have done that? I figured it wouldnt matter since they are not being used. If it doesnt, why in the heck would I have power for just a sec then nothing?

Sounds like you've shorted something...

really weird because it acts the same whether I hook anything up to it or not. It started happening after I cut the connector off. I guess I will go clip and tape each of the wires that are loose now to make sure there is nothing touching.

to bad you live to far away.
You could have taken some of this from me.
