Title: Perspective
Post by: drventure on June 22, 2012, 10:43:41 am
Just came across this post on thechive about a new game from the digipen studios.

Sorry not sure how to embed viddler links directly here

www.viddler.com/embed/d09e6d98 (http://www.viddler.com/embed/d09e6d98)

Basically, it's this really wild combination of a classic 8 bit 2d platformer and modern 3d shooter.

You have to think in 3d perspective, then flatten your view to 2d.

That's pretty innovative.  However, the constant switching to 3D/2D gaming seems pretty jarring.  Cool idea, but I wonder how good a game it will make.

Yet another time when I say, "I wish I had thought of that!".

Looks like a cool game, I will def. play it when it comes out.

I saw this too.  Would have liked to see a timeline along with the video.  Was anyone else reminded of mega man?

Paper mario on acid
I wonder if paper mario is the limit of how far you can push the concept whilst still remaining fun...

I'd definitely put it more in the puzzle category. Interesting though.

I'm thinking this can be summed in the following:

"Can you think with PERSPECTIVE?"

Would you want to?
