Here's is some updated summary information about my "Project X Arcade" as of 10/5/2024.
I didn't build exactly from specific plans, but had inspiration from multiple sources. The base measurements and closest thing to plans (along with some good tutorials) came from an old site here (https://www.arcadecab.com/), and from pictures of a project called Neon MAME by someone named Knievel, which mainly inspired the circular side cutouts and curved angles in the side panels.
Once I started though, I began to make a lot of customizations. I kept a detailed blog at the time, but the blog has been down for a while. I do have a pdf backup of it though which you should be able to download here which contains a lot of information about what I changed and lessons learned

I also made a video of the bezel assembly here:

Since the blog, I've made a number of further enhancements, including the addition of a marquee monitor topper and Stream Deck to provide the option of instant push-button game selection, which are controlled by my own software available here

with videos of their operation here:

The most recent addition is a GRS Super Rotary joystick, Ikari Warriors edition a few months ago. Here's how the machine looks today.

I'm not planning to build another quite yet; but the games are truly a blast, and my pre-school daughter has discovered and is enjoying Bubble Bobble in particular.

Sorry 'bout the blog. I'm actually too cheap for a provider. The blog runs on an old spare machine under my desk that didn't like the heat up here in the northeast today. :banghead: I rebooted, so it should be good for at least a few hours. ;D

Great job documenting, very clear and concise.

Seconded, that way this great information will not be lost to the beast that is aging spare computers.

My little server-that-could is indeed showing its age (its been on 24/7 for about 4 years), but in the event of a catastrophic failure, I'll just move the blog to another "spare". The data is always kept safe.
In any case, I will be continuing to update the blog occassionally (I'd like to do a page on software configuration and scripts); but I may copy some info here as well as an extra preservation effort.
Oh, and here are a few pics of the CP that I posted in the CP thread that aren't currently on the blog.
