I have a swivel stool, but mine is not height adjustable but does have a back on it (no arms). Mine has four legs though which makes it less likely to tip over, especially if you will have kids playing on it. I think mine came from Kohl's, looks similar to this...

I picked up 2 of these off CL for 50$ (well, they look almost like these anyway).

They look good, but the seat material is this vinyl that is quite slippery. I've found myself sliding off the chair during good games.
Think I'll be reupholstering them.
The chrome look isn't quite for me, but having the footrest like that is nice.
In retrospect, I'd have probably gone with backless as well.

I picked up a couple black stools from Joe's Outdoors a few years back. I think I paid ~$20 each. These do not rotate and are cheap chromed legs with black vinyl top. I also got another one that swivels but had a checkered top for the garage. That one cost a little more ($25 I think). O'Reilly's sells a similar style with cars on them for ~$50 if you want to see the style.
As for how they work...okay I guess. They are fine if sitting flat on them. If I lean against them slightly (sitting on the edge), the seat cuts into my legs a bit. The rubber feet were not quality and the legs quickly cut through them so I had to put washers at the bottom of legs and replace the feet. Overall, I'd give this style of stool a 6 for use in a game room.
If someone gets the OP's stools, please post opinions!

I've got some thing similar to drventure, but a more simple design. I also normally choose to stand, but kids love them because they get eye level to the games.
I have a buncha stools like the one in the link below, for my bar. 30" Cherry stools with bicast leather. Most of them are backless, but I've also got about 6 with backs. I prefer the backless. I also use the same stools for my poker table. The wood can chip on the foot rests (i think some guys wear cleats!) and they do need to be tightened occasionally with an Allen wrench, but I'm pretty happy with them. I've had them for maybe 3 years now.
Also, they don't swivel super easily as if there are ball bearings in them, but they can be moved.

I can relate to that. Sometimes the legs don't always agree though :lol
I have one of these and really happy with it. http://www.furnishyourhome.co.uk/Dining-Room-Furniture/Bar-Stools/New-York-Modern-Bar-Stools-in-Red.htm (http://www.furnishyourhome.co.uk/Dining-Room-Furniture/Bar-Stools/New-York-Modern-Bar-Stools-in-Red.htm)

Cylinders always, always, always quit working in a matter of months. You can barely get anything with a screw base anymore and it's a darned shame. Granted, I'm 6'3" and huge. I tend to break furniture.
I've got one of these and really like it:

Same stool elsewhere (Target, Kohl's) is twice the price. I have a few of their cheapo $10 wooden stools and they're great for shoving under pinball machines when you're removing the legs, using as saw horses, whatever.
There is no way ---my bottom--- would fit on those LumiSource stools.
I got something like this now but i wish it was lower or adjustable plus i dont have all around foot rest And yes im one to break furniture especially swivel computer chairs :lol :lol

It's some hoity toity high-end stool that's super trendy, I guess. Think of it as a Herman Miller stool. :]
It's all shock-mounted on a giant spring, so you're always moving around a little bit. This is supposed to keep your back strong & help your posture, supposedly. It is made of very nice & sturdy materials--it's a quality product, but I'm sure that there's a pretty hefty profit margin if it's sold for $599 new...One webpage I saw claimed that this is...was...Steve Jobs' favorite chair.
My old coworker loved to get new high-tech items, and then he often lost interest in them. This stool was passed around the office from person to person for a while, then I borrowed it to take home for my arcade cabinet, then he left town & refused to take the stool back, so I bought him a bunch of beer & gave him a big "THANK YOU!"
It does work really nicely for my arcade cab stool!

Looks like a similar idea to those "executive inflatable ball chairs" the idea being that you're not just sitting but having to balance and engage muscles while sitting.
I'll say this, they do work for that, but sitting on a non-breathable vinyl surface all day wasn't particular comfortable for nothing other that heat reasons.
I really like my Aeron for work!
But for an arcade cab, that stool looks fantastic.
-
I bought a Herman Miller Aeron years ago--the wife of a coworker was a reseller, so I got a little discount.
At my new job, we have some other equivalent fancy expensive chairs. It helps w/ my lower back pain & stiffness tremendously.
The other thing that helps my back at work is to drink lots of water. It forces me to get up & take a little stroll frequently!

If anyone wants to know how good my stool is, I'll send them a sample.
