I am thinking about building an electronic slot machine like the newer ones found in casinos.
Anyone know where I can find the type of software they use?

Try searching under Fruit Machine Emulators. They have quite a few machines, but I don't think the emulator is as user friendly as Mame.

They are out there... and BORING AS ALL H@#@...

Well, I am making this for my mother so she has something to do while my father is over playing Poker - she loves slot machines :p

Be a sport and get her a vibrator.

This isn't an emulator, but there's a game called Masque Slots which has licensed a bunch of the major slot machines (Red, White and Blue, Double Diamond, Volcano, Spin 'Til You Win, etc.). I think we got it at Sam's Club a few years ago, so it shouldn't be too hard to find; I did a google search on "Masque Slots" and found a page where it can be ordered.

why not just buy a slot machine there are some pretty low price ones out on ebay for like $200.00. Just a thought I just bought one.

My Mom has almost all those licensed slot machine simulators (Masque, Bally's, etc). She loves them on the computer, but they are totally unsuitable for cabinet use. Unless playing a slot machine with a trackball is your idea of realistic.

I don't have mine handy, but can't the buttons be mapped to keys on the keyboard?
Update: Apparently they can't. I just checked, and aside from program functions, the only key on the keyboard that does anything is the space bar, which is the same as clicking the "Play {max} Credits" button.

Yeah I checked that out already last year. I wanted to make her a machine for Christmas.
