I always haunt the thrift stores looking for "treasures". Never found any arcade game parts....'till today. Came across a tray of 8 new red Sanwa buttons. Price....$1.50. But....the half off color for that day matched the tag on these....so I got them for a whopping 80 cents. Nothing to jump up and down about, but I found it curious. Might use them for start buttons or something since I'm a leaf switch die hard....

Nice, best I've found at a thrift store was a $5 NES Advantage...lol

I found a slot machine marquee at Goodwill for a dollar a few weeks ago. Actually, it could be for a redemption game too, I never bothered looking it up, just bought it and tossed it in the parts stack.

I've seen a couple slots before. Also saw a Mappy at a SA like 10 years ago. Seems like they wanted somewhere around 4-500 for it. Not a favorite of mine and I've never paid that much for any of my games.

I seem to see all the interesting stuff around back when I'm throwing out my stuff. All the cool stuff that other people donate, they must ship that to other stores.

I've pulled all kinds of great stuff outta thrift stores. Piles of older stereo gear. Saved the best for myself, ebay'd the rest and made decent coin. Never know what you'll find....there was a mainframe computer at one a few weeks ago. About the same time they had a bunch of misc boards on a shelf. Found 4 small-ish boards that were loaded with 4164 rams (44 pcs per pcb). 50 cents a board ;)

Now that's what I call a find. Did you get it all up and running properly?.
As for me, The best find I have had is completely non arcade related. It cost $8 and It's a signed limited edition cat print by braldt bralds "Bag ladies" We picked it up on holiday in Florida last year, took it out of the frame it was in and handed that back in to the thrift store :) When back home in the UK I tried to fit it into the largest frame I had and had to trim 5mm off the bottom. The wife wanted some more prints by the artist so I look it up online, Current price to buy $687 :banghead: :banghead:

I love the cabinet for the huge marquee, and it's a relatively fun game, I'm just no good at it. :hissy:

"d8thstar" - that's me! even had someone from activision contact me way back when because they wanted to include it on a ps2 activision compilation. got a free copy and my name in the "special thanks" section

After reading this thread I got the urge to visit the goodwill store. Didnt find anything for our hobby except a flight stick that plugs into a PC joystick port. There was no documentation and they wanted 3 bucks for it, so I decided against it. Knowing my luck it wouldnt work anyway.

...and "special thanks" from fans like myself as well. I really appreciate your co-operation so that Thwocker could be included in the PS2 compilation. :applaud:
