Ok guys, I've never seen MAME run on widescreen, How would the old games like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong look on a screen like this? Dell U2412M 24" LED Monitor?
-
For a cabinet or on a desk? If on a desk, the stands make it easy to rotate to portrait
-
On the non-LED 2410 they look even better.
That one is wide gamut, the LED one is standard gamut.

And because it is a widescreen, I would recommend the MVA panels instead of the IPS ones. These have contrast values around 1:2000 where IPS stops at 1:800-1:900. Pac-Man on an IPS panel gives rather much black-glow.

I want to use a flat panel monitor...big as I can and around $300.00...What is my best option?..Im not a IT guy so give it to me in plain English :dunno

MaximumPC just had an article on monitors, gave Asus PA238Q a better rating than the Dell U2412M

Search on Ebay for the Samsung 275t. It's a 27" 16:10 LCD monitor that uses a very high quality PVA panel. These are relatively rare and I think that very few people know about this model, so when there are auctions they seldom get bids. I got mine for $305 shipped in excellend condition. I saw two others sell around that price before I purchased mine.
This list of LCD monitors might be useful: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=120410.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=120410.0)

EU or Americas?
In the EU are some nice fullHD 27 inch MVA displays available around 300$, but the high quality displays often don't make it over the pacific.

Search on Ebay for the Samsung 275t.
It is an old one, but unmatched for angles, gamut and blacks at 27 inch. Splendid colours of the good old CCFL era. (FCK LED!).
You can either get the Samsung, with good overdrive but horrible lag, or the Acer 273W with fast througput but more ghosting.
