Title: Pentranic 288-S26A
Post by: Trip on June 11, 2012, 07:56:15 am
I got this monitor with an old beat up 4 player NFL Blitz 99 blitz cab I refreshed from the dead.  The monitor was already refurbed.  No idea if it is the original monitor or original.

Is this a standard or medium resolution monitor?  I know it is a dual CGA/EGA monitor, but can't find anything about resolution.  I am buying a ArcadeVGA and wanting to know if I will need the amp with it and if this a good monitor to use for MAMEing or if it won't run a lot of native resolutions.

Any info about setting it up would be greatly appreciated.

Here is boards of the exact monitor I have that they are selling on ebay:

Also attaching the awesomeness that is my Mamemarquee side art.

Yes Dual res... CGA @15.75khz and Mid res at 24.3 Khz. This is manually switched with the plug that is mounted on the heatsink. I position marked 15 and the other 24. Do not cahnge this with power on and do not power up with it not connected to one or the other.
CGA typicaly 640X200, Mid res 640X350.
Having said that when a lot of the games were developed there was no "Industry Standard" so depending on the manufacturer of the game all these aoparameters will vary.

hope this helps!!
Cheers Rick

It helps a ton, do you have any pics of how yours is connected.

Would love to see the connections to the board to a ArcadeVGA if you got em.

I am assuming this is the connections

R - Red
G - Green
B - Blue
E - Ground
    - Sync?
S  - Other Sync?

Guessing two lower ones are separate horizontal and vertical sync, do I wire both of these to the sync of the ArcadeVGA?

Signal cnnevtions as follows:
yes RGBand ground first 4 pins, pin 5 is Horizontal or compoiste sync, pin 6 is vertical sync. Pin 6 is only active if IC 1 has been iserted and j45, J16 are in the right place.
If you send me an e-mail with your e-mail address I will forward you an e-mail with a service manual.
