Yesterday the monitor on my DK machine looked like this after l turned it on. If you look closely you'll see that mario, kong, the barrels, and pauline are the correct colors, it's the scores and background of the level that are off.
I tried adjusting all the pots on the montior hoping it one just had a faulty/loose connection but sadly that didn't change anything.
What the heck is wrong with this thing? :banghead:

Update: showed this picture to a guy that does monitor repairs and capping for me and he said it looks like it's probably a bad color eprom on the PCB... what do you guys think?
-
Nope don't think so... Have you recently moved the game?? This ;ooks like a magnetism issue requiring degaussing.

Bad color prom. If it was stray magnetism the strange colors would gradually blend into each other....not be all "precisely" wrong like that. You got a board problem....
-
Gotcha, so l pulled my cab out and firmly pressed on each of the eproms and ram to ensure they were nested properly and lo and behold we're back in business.
I'm guessing one got jostled loose a week ago or so when l was re-arranging my game room.
Thanks for the tips and suggestions guys,

crud this is back again, does anyone know of someone who can fix it for me... Wiling to ship and pay of course.
-
Just pull the offending chip out of the socket, clean any black tarnish off the pins, squirt some contact cleaner into the socket....put the chip back in.
-
Thanks boardjunkie,
I'll give it a shot, but can you send me a picture of which ones are the color proms so l know l'm doing the right ones lol?

There's 2 different variations of the boardset. A 2 board, and a 4 board. Identify your board type, then see below.
