I've been using the latest version of Game Launcher and it's fantastic. I have a couple of problems though.
How do you switch between emulators? For example, I have GL set to run MAME and RockNES. When you get to the end of the MAME game list, is it supposed to move on to the Nintendo list and vice versa?
When using GL to launch RockNES, I can pick a game from the list and start it. But if I hit ESC while the game is running, it doesn't go back to GL. It ends up hanging the front end.
ANy help would be much appreciated.

as for the hanging i dunno, but to switch emus you press alt or ctrl respectively

Yep, I figured out the emulator switching last night by just hitting keys on the keyboard. I wish there was another way to switch them, however, since I don't want to add another button to the control panel.
I'm wondering if Windows XP has anything to do with the front end hanging after hitting escape during a RockNES game?

I have problems with the focus not returning to _gl32. Focus is returned to game launcher v.0.9.8-pre1, but I can alt-tab to _gl32 and everythings fine. I figured out I was running mame32, works with Mame flawless. Could explain RockNES allthough I haven't tried anything but Mame. Maybe the focus is stolen when running another Windows program ?
You can switch the keys in the GLaunch.cfg file. Scan codes to use for the keys can be found in the scancode.txt file.

You may be right about the losing focus part. As for remapping some of the keys, I'll give it a try after work and let you know. Thanks for the help.

Well, I figured out why RockNES hangs GL. After playing an NES game and hitting escape, RockNES stops emulating the games but doesn't shut down. So you basically have RockNES still running in the background. This doesn't happen with Mame32, since after hitting the escape key it shuts mame down completely and returns to GL front-end. I'm wondering still if this is an XP problem. Anyone know any XP commands that I can run to shutdown RockNES?

Nope, the only thing that will help you is a piece of middle wear that im working on. If you use the escape key to exit from emus right now then it will be compatable with gameluancher fully. :)
It's a command line translator..... it takes the commands sent to it and translates them to anything you like. You won't need this since rocknes uses mame style commands, what you will need is it's ability to kill a process (in this case rocknes) upon the pressing of a certain key (in this case probably escape). It's not released yet as it's part of another, larger project I'm working on. (cough, cough)

I think I may have figured out how to fix the problem. I'll try it when I get off work and post my results.

I thought I had it figured out, but it didn't work. I've resorted to using m.e.s.s. which seems to run perfectly with GLaunch. The only problem is it's not perfect when it comes to NES emulation. Oh well, I'll keep plugging away until I can figure out something.

Regarding using RockNES in Windows, you can press ESC to exit the emulator and return to the Frontend? With something like Nesticle, you have to press ALT-Q to quit the emulator without having to use the mouse to go to the menu and stuff. Also, when launching Rocknes, does it launch fullscreen right into the game?

Send me an email and I'll send you over a few test programs. There's still a slightly noticable slowdown bug on a few instances, that's why they're not ready for primetime yet.
