So I play the arcade regularly, yet my wife only plays nes with wireless Xbox controllers. She brought up the idea of streaming the gameplay from the arcade to our tv. Has anyone ever tried this. Currently the tv and arcade are in seperate rooms however share the same wall. I would like to do this, Preferably wireless. I know The Xbox controller works from the couch. Currently my arcade is hooked up to the Internet.
Are programs like splashtop streamer viable?

Wireless VGA transceiver and a KVM switch should do it. Just make sure your FE and emus are set to the wireless controller.

This.

They also have VGA transceivers that go over phone wires/copper Ethernet wires so those are a possibility too depending on your house wiring.

Your wife wants to play nes games with an Xbox 360 controller in the living room.
A computer capable of doing that should cost roughly nothing at all.
You don't need networking, toss a throw away computer in the entertainment center and be done with it.

PO, you're right. Of course you're right... but where's the fun in that? Besides I have a vested interest in seeing if those transievers work well for gameplay >:D

they share the same wall. personally, i would get a wall plate (with whatever video connection the tv has, i.e. hdmi, vga, etc.) with the appropriate keystone insert. then on the other side of the wall, where the tv is, just do the same. hell, you could even wire an on/off switch thry the plate also so wifey could turn the machine on while sitting in the tv room

This. There is a strong possibility that a wireless transceiver will introduce a noticeable amount of lag. She'll be throwing that wireless controller at your tv in no time.

I have nothing specific to back my claim up, LeChuck. Most of the sites I looked up with have stated that the newer transmitters lack the lag of the older technology, which is what I have had (very limited) experience with.
Reviews for newer transmitters on amazon seem to be a mixed bag, especially for the mid-range stuff. (Assuming no one's gonna want to pay $500+ to transmit a signal 5-10 feet through a wall.) I was unable to find any reviews specifically citing video game usage as well. So, take my comment with a grain of salt.

Plus, depending on the kind of Wireless VGA transmitter you get, damn near anything can cause static in the picture (like fluorescent lights, a microwave coming on, a vacuum cleaner running, etc.)
A wired connection would be best.

Wired connection is always best.... but always the most labour intensive. If you have to run cabling yourself, you'll often feel more obliged to try the wireless solution first. You can argue the option "its only the wife, and she'll never notice the loss in quality" which will only add more value to the ease of trying wireless.
I've used Composite AV 2.4GHz senders, and find the quality was terrible! but... it worked, and mum n' dad were happy to get cable to their TV by the spa. The 5GHz senders weren't any better either btw!
I have ended up wiring my house for Gigabit Lan everywhere now, and super happy I did. There are wall kits to allow HDMI over ethernet (uses 2 RJ45 ports at each end for number of conductors) which means I can now route HDMI full 1080p to anywhere in the house. I run composite and coax digital audio over it too. But it took ages to pull the cables and terminate myself. But a weekend project and plenty of beer, and well worth the effort for the AV enthusiast.
If it's just for the missus to play on the sofa... buy a wireless transmitter/receiver and save your energy for more beer drinking time.
Oh, and I forgot to say. Whilst the AV sender didn't stop my Wifi in the house, I found that it did slow my connection rates and I ended up having to change the channel I was using on my wifi router. They say it's not supposed to interferre... but I can't help feel it did.

Thanks for the quality assessment RamjetR. I am disappoint.

Get that plate with your video and audio connections and duplicate the screens. Then whatever is on the screen on the arcade cab will be on the tv.
