Title: What size T-molding do I need?
Post by: rmusick on June 04, 2012, 02:41:53 pm
Hey can someone help me out here.  I am trying to place my orders today for some parts,  I am going to order some laminate for a cabinet (was going to paint, but that is one skill i dont have, tried this weekend and it looked like crap.) I will need to order 2 types, one just a stander 3/4 laminate but the other has to be enough to cover 3/4 plus Formica on both sides.  can anyone help?

Depends on the thickness of the material that you are making your cab out of.

Then if I am not mistaken, http://www.t-molding.com/store/home.php (http://www.t-molding.com/store/home.php) , get the 3/4" t-molding.  :banghead:

at the site that corydee linked they have T molding that is 13/16" this is a slightly larger Tmold that the 3/4 that some of your cab is going to need like corey said, i am willing to bet that the 13/16th of an inch is going to be good enough for your 3/4inch and formica. considering i have no clue how thick standard fomica is, that is the best i can do for ya.

if you have a caliper that is capable of inside and outside dimension you can find the exact thickness you will need.

Thanks, I went ahead and ordered the Formica,  As you said unsure of the thickness i have seen it thin and i have seen it thick.  Ill get one of those calipers and check when I get it all applied

T-Molding.com sells 13/16" for this purpose. Buy it instead of the 3/4". Works perfect.
