I am looking for an original DK wiring harness to purchase. Please PM me if you might have something that could help me out
-
hi
iSpaz
i need to ask this question
why do u want to buy a complete harness?
ed
-
I basically need the connectors. And I think it would also be a good reference to have around when I wire it up myself. I have an original board
-
hi
oringal donkeykong and pac-man are the same serie's board
22 pin's on 1 side 22 on the other
if u want a pin out ring me up
and or boardjunkie
ed
-
The connections I am needing to make are
9pin CPU Harness Connector
17pin Junction Harness Connector
7pin SOU Harness Connector
10pin CLK Harness Connector
Most of these run from the original boards to either the power supply, control panel, or monitor. I need the correct connectors to plug into the original board. I have no idea if I could just go out and buy some new connectors that would fit the original board or not.

Check in with Dokert over on KLOV and see if he has any of his fine repro harnesses left.

Cheffo, I have not been approved over on the KLOV forums. I have tried to get several members to recommend me, but it has not seemed to work. I am still on a restricted account.
and Ed, I will upload a picture in just a minute.

www.molex.com (http://www.molex.com)
there a starnded header
ed

holy cow that website has tons of options... now I need to figure out which connection will fit properly.
-
hi
a micaguage come's in handey right about now
as size's are quoted in . inch's,if u go to the .ca site it is in metric
u take holder size width-length and pin count + the size of pin
ie 14guage/12/16/18 etc
and from what i see 18 guage is in order
if boardjunkie would chime in the nick could tell u better

If they are Molex then I imagine you want to be looking at the wire to board connectors [here (http://www.molex.com/molex/products/group?key=wire_to_board_connectors&channel=products)]
You can use the categories on the LH side of the screen to refine and narrow your search. I would start but measuring the pitch and select the applicable one. Then select the amount of circuits (pins) and you should hopefully be able to find what you are looking for from those results.
-
yay I agree... I wish I had a gauge like that so I could figure out the specifics :(
this is about as good as I can do for measuring....

Dont know if that will help or not... but I still have my fingers crossed lol

I measured the small black plastic gap in between each socket on the female housing and came up with 1mm Im guessing thats my pitch

hi
thats the pitch and size
u are well on your way
ed
-
No, that isn't the pitch. The pitch is the distance between the center of each pin. From your photos above it looks to be either 2.5mm or 2.54mm (0.100").
That brings us down to about 5000 products ;D
I'll have a look and see if I can find them for you.
Before I spend ages looking, are you sure the manufacturer is Molex, ed12?
-
AGREED^ I was looking at the options and diagrams for the 1mm and it was wrong. So I remeasured and it was either 2.5 or 2.54....hard to tell with a ruler.
I was able to set up an account and order a few samples of most of what I needed. (your suppose to have a business to even have an account with MOLEX.)
So hopefully I am able to even get the samples.... time will tell
-
I had a look through all of the 2.5mm and 2.54 housings with 17 and 15 circuits but sadly couldn't find anything that looked similar to yours.
I think your best bet would be to speak to Dokert. If he can't supply you with a harness then I imagine he would at least be able to tell you what connectors they are.
