Hey folks, I've sent Andy out an email on this but I figured I'd throw out a thread here to see if anyone can help with this.
I find that in my Ipac, the keys seem to work for a bit and then either stop working or seem to get stuck. I'm using the keyboard to test on this so I know it's not a wiring issue with my control panel. The connection is USB and I'm using (as per the instructions) a PS/2 keyboard to go into the ipac.
It programs from the software just fine. And when I test it, everything seems fine as all the buttons are properly assigned and light up when the proper key is pressed. Then I go into the game and it works fine for a few minutes and then the problems begin. When I go back into the Ipac software the keys (and its different keys sometimes) no longer light up or work.
I've also never seen the shift function work either. I press P1 and hold it down and then move the joystick and nothing happens.
Anybody else have these issues?

I have strange things happen with my ipac2 once in a while but unfortunately I don't have a solution. My problem is only with shifted keys. For some reason my shifted keys will sometimes stick for a few seconds. I use one shifted key for fast forward and maybe one out of 15-20 times I use it the command sticks and fast forwards through a whole game. The other problem I often encounter is the shift keys randomly stop working. They always come back after a reboot and sometimes on their own after about 15minutes. Ive experienced this in both xp and 7 with ipac2 connected through usb. as far as i know the firmware is the most up to date so I'm not really sure where the issue is.

There is a fundamental wiring error if the shift functions dont work, as these are disabled if any stuck switch is detected. I would think one or more of the switches are wired to "NC" instead of "NO" or some other such issue. Hopefully we can resolve this via email.
Also if using the I-PAC in USB mode, the PCs own keyboard should be left as-is, ie connected to the PC.

Yes, I had a similar problem when one of my microswitches failed.

Thing is though, I'm not testing this on my control panel. It's not a wiring issue. I'm only testing it via a keyboard hooked into the computer via the Ipac. I've tried two different keyboards (both PS/2) plugged into the Ipac. The Ipac is plugged into the computer via USB. I have the computer's keyboard plugged in as well (though I've tried it without that keyboard plugged in but still get problems.)
When I test the games on the keyboard connected via the Ipac, I get problems. If it's on the keyboard plugged directly into the computer, there's no problems at all.
I'm currently talking this out with Andy via email but I figured I'd be a little more clear in the offchance that somebody else has had this problem.

If the I-PAC is being used in USB mode, the PC keyboard should be connected direct to the PC. The pass-through connector is only for use when the I-PAC is connected via PS/2.
The I-PAC is not designed to be a PS/2 to USB converter. In fact "real" PS/2 to USB keyboard converters have logic which automatically cancel all keys every few seconds to prevent this behaviour happening. Its not practical to convert PS/2 to USB in a way in which it performs to gaming standards.
I think in your emails I must have missed the fact you have not actually tested the controls.
