It's not one of LeChuck's awesome minis, but it will do. I've always wanted one of these. All my spoiled cousins had them. I had to be content to play Pac-Man on my 2600.
-
my cousin had one. I used to play it all the time. I wonder if he still has it.....
Very cool :applaud:

It plays great and the plastic is great, but the stickers are worn. OK, should I do a repro on this machine and replace the stickers with all new vinyl ones?
-
I personally like to leave things as original as possible, unless the part/piece/sticker etc is so deteriorated or missing that what is left is actually a distraction from the item as a whole.
From where I'm sitting, your stickers look OK to me, but maybe in person they don't look as good.
-
If you look at the 'marquee' sticker, you can see that the adhesive has, over time, 'soaked' through the sticker, giving it a blotchy, grease stained appearance. This is true on all the stickers.
I've actually already used Illustrator to redraw all the stickers to scale. The original artwork is slightly modified from the original cab art, but I used the originals for the new stickers. It's not a pressing issue, but just something I was considering toying around with.

Seems like a lot of space for one game. Mame it?

Hi-Rez photos! Exacting measurements! Sketch-up model! Can it take an Ipad? Will it fit in my basement? Let's hustle people!
Congrats on your grail. ;D

I won one of those in an Atari Pac-Man contest at a department store when I was a kid. Still have it... rescued it from my folks' house a few months back. Wish I'd saved the box, but who knew?

Sweet! I love how clean your marquee looks. That's why I'm considering redoing mine!

I say you make a 1/6 scale model of THIS thing!!!
-
Just for laughs, here's the redone sideart. If anyone else has one of these and wants the hi-rez version, let me know.

Thanks, Chuck. Some people have mentioned using this model in the past as a design for a bartop. I've though about it, and part of getting this was, not only to fulfill some childhood wish, but also to see how feasible the proportions would be. I smell a new summer project!
-
Congrats on your find. I had one of these growing up, not sure if it still works or not, haven't put batteries in it for years. Sits next to the Donkey Kong one that I have also. Enjoy I put a lot of hours on mine.

The marquee actually has a bit of bleed on the bottom right corner... doesn't show up in the photo. The sides look great, though.

That's what she said?

Congrats! I loed these as a kid, but never had ne (I actually did get a frogger one once, but I think there was a problem with it, and when we went to return it there were no replacements at the store and I ended up getting something else.. Or something like that.. (too many years ago to remember!).
On my next trip to the states, I'm definitely etting me a few of these :)

Nice! Congrats on the find! Never tried the Pacman, but I always thought those Coleco tabletops were real quality games. I grew up with a Donkey Kong one I found at a garage sale as a kid. I also had a Tomy Tabletop Tron. Game was awesome as well. My brother snarfed both those up when we got older though.
A few years ago I found a Coleco Tabletop Zaxxon for a dollar at Goodwill. It was shoved in with the baby toys. I gave it to my brother before researching and find out it was suppose to be the most valuable one in the series. Oh well, at least those old tabletops are somewhere where they are appreciated (And I can play them at any time).
-
Yeah, this is one I used to play as a kid, so that's what made it special. I know there were other ones like this, but the only one I ever got to play was Mario's Cement Factory (http://www.miniarcade.com/nintendo/cement-tt.htm), which technically wasn't an arcade game but was an awesome tabletop. MCF still gets premium pricing on eBay.
-
Jim-
eBay prices are pretty good for the seller right now, as long as you don't think the tabletop should be fetching outrageous prices. Pac-Man seems to be going for $45-$55 shipped. Ms. Pac-Man tends to be selling for more (but not for those $399 SUPAR-RARE MS. PACK-MAN MINI VIDEO GAME sellers).

I need to snap some pics of what I have and see if any of you guys want them. I'm kind of conflicted because they belonged to my uncle and he's had them piled up for 30 years. But he also asked me to sell them... kinda wonder if I'll regret it in 20 years but... c'mon.
Id want em for decorations in my basement. I promise to give you the right zip code this time.
-
Hah... I remember that driving game. Mechanical with LEDs, isn't it?
The Ms. Pac looks great.

The Ms. Pac looks great.
That one is great. It is the best Coleco. The original Pac is REALLY ANNOYING in the sound dept. It is really no problem if one of the treads to the piezo speaker came off.
Other great Pac-Man's are the Entex one (hardest and most detailed mazes with similar complexity as the arcade game, and it can count 300 levels, more than the kill screen on the arcade!), and the Gakken Puck Monster (best looking display, but not hard enough).
A pitty that Coleco's Zaxxon and Donkey Kong sucked so bad. They are really bad when it comes to gameplay. Luckily Bandai did the Zaxxon right, and Gakken did the Donkey Kong right.

I had the Coleco Galaxian and Parker Bros. Bankshot.
Wish I kept them.

Ah, Bank Shot. Great game. Bet I haven't thought about it in 30 years, but a great game.
-
I have the Galaxian in a pile of crap somewhere...
-
I just got a Coleco Donkey Kong today for $10
-
I saw that! Good for you!

Try to get a Lansay Crazy Kong from France or a CGL Super Kong too, and if you don't like the shape, built the internals into you DK machine. Coleco DK just plain sucks game-wise. The Crazy Kong port sold in France and Brittain is way better.
-
No Biggie it's still an old collectible and well the better new's is I can't wait till the Kong Off 2 in November at least it's easy to transport a small cab to get signed versus a whole cabinet
-
Grew up with a donkey kong jr verision of these, took two c or d batterys? can't totally remember. I eventually broke the joystick on it though :embarassed: , it didnt end up in the garbage i sold it to someone for $10 instead.
Would love to get another one.
-
I still want the MsPac

The Nintendo cream one or the Coleco Orange one? 2 C batteries it is. If you are in Europe (name sounds Dutch) you can get one easily for 30-50€.

Go buy it! It is not that hard to find on Ebay. Its around 50$ and remember, it does not loose value.
-
I have a Galaxian. It plays really well considering how it's implemented. Of course, Galaxian is a slow game to begin with. ;D
If anyone has the artwork for Galaxian that can be printed to redo mine I'd love that. I have all sorts of adhesive bleed on mine.
