Title: JUKE 2000 - wall jukebox (DONE)
Post by: Jp19 on May 17, 2012, 07:59:05 pm
been planning for a while and today i started my wall jukebox build.
JUKE 2000 ive decided to go with this graphic.
had a go myself and im pretty happy with it........the title (JUKE2000) will be lit up.

so i went to the local bnq and picked up some of the plexi faced picture frames 50 x 70cm i got two of these,
the idea is to use both backboards, they're quite thick, not the usual hardboard. One will be used as the back half
and the other as the front, the front will then be covered in one sheet of plexi........ the artwork will then be laid over it,
the artwork will be printed at home using inkjet self adhesive a4 labels, like i did on my marvel vs cab. And finally the last piece
of plexi on top of that like a sandwich effect, idea being the second plexi will add a glass effect to the artwork.

so went out and picked a few things up this morning:
2 picture frames
2 pc fans
pc speakers - logitech
euro chassis socket
Usb panel mount
slimline keyboard
mains 12 inch strip light
2 cans of black spray paint
multi plug extension
inkjet labels
mounting brackets
piano hinge

started building this afternoon.......added some batons to both sides of the picture frame backs, and created two halves of the juke.
Also added a piano hinge in the middle.

I then marked out a marquee hole, monitor, keypad and speaker holes and cut these with the jigsaw.
and then cut holes from the bottom panel for two pc fans, a hole for a euro power plug, and a panel usb.

also today managed to hack the keyboard into a keypad, opened it up, removed matrix and push pads,
took all keys off the keyboard apart from numbers, backspace, pg up, pg dwn, and
qwerty (options buttons - vol up, play pause etc.) then trimmed it down to have a smaller surface, also decased a tft monitor
i had lying around, and decased the speakers.
