Hi, I really hope someone can help me. I've been working on my Mame arcade machine for sometime now, and have spent ages trying to perfect my game lists. - I have come across a few games which will work fine when run direct through Mame v0.140 but not when selected from the game list in Maxium Arcade v2.92. I'm completely out of ideas now, any suggestions please?
The games are all the 2player versions of:
The Simpsons / Sunset riders/ Vendetta

I have exactly the same problem with mame32 1.41, the games launch im mame32 front end .
But doesnt in maximus Arcade???
Any idea please????

I've managed to solve my problem now. Go to preferences, select configuration tab
Select Mame. Towards the bottom left of the screen is a drop down for path. Change this, I changed from short
Path to long path now all my games work. Maybe it will work for you :)

Sorry to jump in on a post that is marked "Solved" but I have an on going issue that is driving me mad. I have 2 MAME system running Hyperspin but I want to upgrade to Arcade Maximus as it has all the filters etc and I have kids playing these systems. The problem I am having is that I can get all the games working and all flowing nicely on my laptop, as soon as I transfer ever onto the MAME's I can get everything to run beautifully (SEGA gen, PSX, N64 and so on) but when I go into MAME all the games are there, I can move around using controllers (IPAC2 setup) but I cannot execute the game launch, its just "Boing!" (best way to describe it) have tried downloading an ipac2.cfg and all the keys work but no matter what I do the games wont launch. I have spent MANY hours in the last week searching for the answer but am at a loss. It might be the simpliest of things but I have burnt all logic on this matter this week so am looking for a nudge in the right direction. My thinking was that it was a conflict with the IPAC2 but like I meantion it works in the menu just wont exe the game.
Any assistance greatly appreciated as I have 3 more to build yet.

Not quite sure what you are saying your problem is. Are you in Maximus when the Mame games will not launch? Are you using the standard key settings and Config in Maximus for Mame?

Try mapping the select button to another keystroke just to see what happens .

In MAME everything works but when I launch Arcade Maximus I can move around the menu using arcade controller but cant execute the game launch. I have just built another PC system for the purpose of testing and installed everything from scratch but I get the same problem. Everytime I hit enter to launch desired game it just goes "Doink!". Truly am buggered on this one.

The last version is 2.10....make sure you have the right version, and delete whatever version you are using before you re-install 2.10 from the website. If that doesn't work, try a different version of MAME. It shouldn't make a difference, but why not try it?
Lastly, if you have searched the Maximus Arcade forum and haven't found a solution, I suggest emailing the developer at mameseer@maximusarcade.com for a possible solution.

Under controller mapping, what do you have setup for select? you may have multiple entry's with one that Maximus does not like, delete all and press the button that you would like for selection.
Also make sure you do this from the preferences menu once Maximus has started, do not define in the preferences before (there are bugs in this method)

Make sure that the select key to select the game in Maximus is set to a key that you can use on your KB or Gamepad or KB encoder. The menu is under Preferences/Controller Mapping/ Setup1/Select

could this just be a simple problem with your game list. If everything works fine on one machine and you have then tried copying the MA files on another machine i imagine that you wil have imported a custom game list onto the new machine / setup. In these instances, if the game names in an imported custom are at all different from the automatically generated games list following rom rescan ie "games" list then your list will appear but games won't run and you will hear a doiing !!! sound.
Try deleting your game list (lst files) from preferences folder and then tick force rescan from Ctrl + P preferences screen. Ensure you then select games from the automatically produced "games" list. You will then have to start producing any customised lists from scratch.

Nice one Shaddow. Thought I had removed old list but was still there so it was having conflicts there. Funny thing was once we got MAME working in Arcade Maximus bloody ipac2 decided to have its own issues so after alot of fartassing around have got everything running nicely. Thanks to everyone for all their time and input. Game on!

Ok I was just going to post a thread with this same problem but thought I'd try this thread first.
I have mame running fine and playing all in my rom list, yet in Maximus I keep getting "not found" errors, I have tried changing the path first then tried deleting the game list as mentioned above although my mame folder had no preferences folder for some reason. If anyone can advise anything to try I would be very grateful.
