The center section that is darker than the rest is a 9"x10" removable insert plate. I'm working on several different inserts at the moment, but here are the 2 I have finished so far...

Planning on an insert for the mount for my steering wheel, a basic tron layout insert with a top fire stick and spinner and not sure what else yet, but that about covers everything I play.
The entire panel is 33" x 13"
The classic 4 way insert has buttons on both sides to accomodate those long games where you just have to switch off your firing hand...
The trackball insert has the mouse buttons so I can still function in Windows and for the PC version of Golden Tee Golf.
The MAME logo will change as well...I don't care much for that one, but it was the easiest to clean up and make a transparent file with for placement and design. I just need to grab my pen tool and strip out the blue flame stuff on the standard MAME logos and use that.
Whatcha think?

nice !!!.... I like it....
just removing the center piece for special things.... good idea....
you can put in like yokes, steering wheel... spinner.. gun...etc....

I like that storm and that pacman pic you have too.... ;D ;D

I really like the concept of removing the center piece and the background is very nice but some of the art looks like its just thrown on there. For a clean Mame logo go to the vector library and get the vectorized one.

Love the background but the characters look like they are just thrown in there..
