Title: ipac 4 issue
Post by: nateious on May 11, 2012, 08:23:26 pm
Hi all, I think I may have a problem with my new ipac-4.  What happens when is when I hook up my control panel buttons to the ipac the default button set does not line up with what it should be.  For example moving the p1 joystick  up down left right instead of pushing the up / down / left / right keys but instead hits z x shift space.  I read up on the interactive programing and text mode functionality and hit control alt p to bring up the menu.  I then did a reset to default to see if that would fix the issue.  It did not, so I hit L to list the current config.  This is what showed.  I had seen forum posts about some people getting the ipac 4 shipped out with the ipac-2 firmware.  Since mine is only showing 2 players worth of controls I wonder if this might be what has happened.

Unfortunately I've also read that you need the USB plug to update the firmware and I only have the PS2 one.  Is there any way around this?

Code: [Select]
*** i-pac interactive programming and test mode ***

    t for button test mode
    l to list current config
    e to save and exit
    a to abort
or press switch you want to program

 1 right = rght   tab
 1 left = left   entr
 1 up = up     `
 1 down = down   p
 1 sw 1 = lctl   5
 1 sw 2 = lalt
 1 sw 3 = spce
 1 sw 4 = lshf
 1 sw 5 = z
 1 sw 6 = x
 1 sw 7 = c
 1 sw 8 = v
 1 coin = 5
 1 start = 1      1
 1 a = p
 1 b = entr
 2 right = g
 2 left = d
 2 up = r
 2 down = f
 2 sw 1 = a
 2 sw 2 = s
 2 sw 3 = q
 2 sw 4 = w
 2 sw 5 = i
 2 sw 6 = k
 2 sw 7 = j
 2 sw 8 = l
 2 coin = 6
 2 start = 2      esc
 2 a = tab
 2 b = esc
done
press next switch or e to exit

Can you send me an email, if not done so already, and I am sure we can address this.

You actually already did, I just wasn't sure how to delete the thread and didn't want to double post.  Thanks for the quick turn around time!
