Title: 'Resume on AC' : will this affect my (desktop PC) battery?

My computer was re-setting at weird times. It may've been heat, which is no longer an issue. It may've also been an old battery.

But I wonder whether using the 'resume on AC' was hurting the battery?

Desktop? no way. the CMOS battery holds a low voltage charge to keep the BIOS settings saved

Well. I got a pack of 20 on ebay for five bucks.
