Hoping someone can help.
I'm wanting to change all the Mame.ini files to a resolution of 256x240.
I know I can do it manually, but it takes for ever (finding the rom name, then changing the ini file).
Is there a quick and easy way to do this?
I ran the Arcade VGA Res tool, but some of the resolutions are a little to big (picture over sized).
If there is a simple fix, you'll need to spell it out for me ;D
Thanks in advance

I use MAMEPlus for doing this type of stuff.
It's a MAME derivative, but it can coexist with the regular mame.exe in the same folder and changes made in the MAMEPlus user interface carry over to plain MAME.
In MAMEPlus, you'd just have to click the options tab, then default game options.

Thanks for that.
Had a quick look, but there must be an easier way (as I would have to recompile MAME again)
Maybe a batch file?? (hope that's the right word) :P

I use (baseline MAME +) MAMEPGUI when doing general properties adjusting.
I sometimes have to manually alter the mame.ini, and sometimes also individual game ini. In this case, you only need do the former.
However, not all games will display, or at least display well, at 256x240. Why that need?

I'm running a vertical monitor. To ensure That the front end layout and the games fill the screen to the same degree. If I left them at their native resolution then some games would be off the screen. If I corrected that with the horizontal size then the layout would not fill the screen. It's all about getting the best "fit".
Anyone got a solution to batch edit the ini??
