Title: WTB: 49 Way Joystick Part
Post by: Stack15 on April 29, 2012, 11:32:04 pm
This is my first post...

I believe I need to purchase an optical board for an Atari 49 way joystick.  I mean the green PC looking board within the joystick assembly that the cord plugs into.  It has a part number of either 04-11135 or 5772-15356-83.  I think this is it here:

It appears to be a $7.55 part, but by the time I pay the $10 surcharge for being a small order and $15 shipping, that $7.55 part is costing me $32.55.  Is there a cheaper way to get one of these things?  Is there a "better" website that I'm just not aware of yet?

Here is there rest of the story:

I purchased a Gaulent Legends arcade game made by atari.  One of the characters goes to the right when the joystick is pushed left and goes right when the joystick is pushed right.  I disassembled the joystick and cleaned everything... this didn't help, but when I switched what I believe is the optical board with the one from the joystick next to it, everything works fine.

i'll check my parts bins at the shop tomorrow and see if there is a board there. i know we have a couple of cabs that use those joysticks but not sure about parts.

edit: those optos look pretty standard, you sure you can't find someplace to buy just an opto sensor (or scab a part from maybe a printer or old fax machine???)

FWIW, if you end up needing to order something, Divemaster127 on here can get basically anything Happ actually has at much more reasonable prices.
