I don't want clear or LED, just a normal, preferably black, red, or blue pushbutton with "25c" (or even "coin") on it.
Any ideas? I've looked though like 20 vendor sites :(
-
Since it wasn't common to use push buttons to register credits they probably don't exist. Maybe think about using coin return buttons and housings, or simpler yet printing "25c" on some clear labels and fixing them to the buttons?
If you really want to go with the printed route I suggest getting a rubber stamp made, some ink that works on anything. Then apply your wording to the button and spray with a couple coats to fixative or clear coat. That would look keen, but it may be more attention to detail than you want to undertake. I only know this because I'm currently prototyping acrylic dice with specific artwork on each face.

Epoxy a real quarter to a button!

Considered these?

Exactly what I was thinking, probably the easiest route.

There were a few credit buttons that were made to fit for midway coin doors, as seen here

but a reg button I have not seen
Perhaps this may help

I agree they look great, but I'm not going to pay $12 + shipping when all I need is a single sticker :)
-
Pongo, bitches!

DIY. Simple enough.

Waste your time, put your inkjet label on there, get a temporary tattoo of $.25 on your finger, epoxy a quarter, become dissatisfied, order from Pongo.
I put that prediction right up there with PBJ's call on the coming pedestal invasion. It's gonna happen. Deal with it. Don't make me refer to myself in the 3rd person again.
you could get clear illuminated buttons and put an insert in - oh wait - More that $12! :banghead:

Are you new at this? ;) j/k j/k But seriously, when I built out my machines, it was the odds and ends that accounted for the bulk of the cost in the end.

Have you PM'd pongo and asked if he will sell you just one in a regular envelope? You might catch him on a charitable day. Offer him like $5, i'd send you one for $5. Hang on.
-
I have one. If Pongo doesn't have any extras I'll send you one for the price of the stamp but it'd be cool if yuo supported a forum vendor.

I'd certainly pay $5 but I didn't think he was doing "custom" orders anymore. I will pm him. Thanks man!

Can't tell you how many times I have done that, I am getting close to pulling the plug on real lighted buttons to replace my diy lighted buttons.

I hate it when people glue coins down, then I spend hours picking at them. Penny glued to a sidewalk = missed appointment and a chipped tooth.

I used red LED buttons with Pongo's stickers on them. I used the black coin disc sticker which nicely blanks out most of the button leaving a brightly glowing edge ring and coin text. It's really striking, but photos don't do it justice.

The stickers are really hardwearing too. Those buttons get pushed a lot. Gotta keep thumbing in those credits!
