Anyone build a cartridge display, like a shadowbox or something that's large (poster sized) w/carts inside? Thinking of doing something like this for NES and one for Atari, but - shockingly - haven't been able to find any similar projects online yet to see what others have done.

I found couple, on instructables I think, and quite frankly, they sucked. Really nothing more than a shadow box or ---smurfy--- picture frame with a bit of felt.
Anyhow, I did design one out of acrylic that was a combination shadow box and shelf but dropped the project when I discovered what happened to the minty fresh boxes and manuals I tried to keep for the better part of twenty years. Apparently, keeping them in a nice box deep in the back of the closet doesn't actually equate to the idea that you don't want anything happening to them. I call it the mom curse. Damn thing runs in the family according to my father (born in 1921... think about that).

I think for nintendo carts at least, it would be farily easy to do something impressive. They've all got screw holes on the back. You could use metal or wooden dowels placed in these screw holes to make the carts appear to float instead of dealing with shelves and such.
Doing the same thing with atari carts would take a bit more work, but it's still possible. You have the slot on teh bottom of the cart afterall.

True. That actually gives me a bunch of ideas that are possible w/acrylic. Even searching instructable I couldn't find anything and was originally thinking a fairly straightforward 'wall o'carts' approach...but those ideas I REALLY like.
First things first...hooking up the atari and seeing hwat still works. :)
