Is anyone running these processors by chance? Any slowdowns with Crusin/Blitz/Gauntlet? I've got a Athlon II 4200+ and looking to upgrade in the not too distant future with a new mobo/ram/processor combo.
-
I just ordered a AMD A6-3670K Unlocked Llano and ASUS F1A55-M LX PLUS for my new bar-top build it should be here tomorrow. I should have everything up and running tomorrow afternoon i'll let ya know.

Awesome, thanks brother!

how much are you looking to spend and are you just upgrading mobo, chio and memory for around $400 i just upgraded to intel 2500k i5 asus mobo and 8 gb memory WOW runs perfect and im running 50 emultors with hyperspin no hickups at all and the best thing is it totally stock at 3.3 ghz alot of people are over clocking these chips over 4ghz so if i get the urge to upgrade later ill just over clock

the setup I got cpu/mobo/ram/psu cost me $274 the cpu/mobo are friendly to O/C unfortunately or fortunately since i'm an AMD man, you just can't beat AMD for price/performance, Intel makes a great product but no one care argue otherwise they are overpriced. A top of the line consumer grade Intel chip will run your ~$1,000 where as a top of line AMD chip will run you ~$300 and it will give you 85-90% the performance of an Intel chip. Honestly I've no idea how Intel has managed to stay in the consumer market with the prices they have.

The 2500k that I just paid $190 for should answer that question.

I agree, but the real question I believe the OP is asking is if the 3670K will be able to run the more intensive titles such as Blitz. Based on what I have heard you should be able to get 3.6ghz out of the chip and I would be interested to know if that is able to run Blitz/Gauntlet Legends/etc at 100%.
-
I'm looking at the FX-4100 and the A6-3670k. I should be able to get a mobo/processor/ram setup for around 200 bucks.
-
well good news and bad news the 3670k will run nlf blitz at 95-100% no problem, bad news is there must be something wrong with the ram or HDD or something the only other systems I've seen run this bad were ones horribly infected by virus's i'm gonna try to set up on a different HDD and see if that works, I'm definitely leaning towards telling you stay away from this ASUS F1A55-M LX PLUS mobo, it's just horrible I've still yet to figure out how to O/C the cpu which i can do in just a few seconds on my formula 5 MOBO
-
When you say 95-100% are you running "-bench" or is the system able to fully play the game (including sound) at 95-100%? Sorry to hear about your hiccups -- I have a lot of experience running Athlon II and Phenom II systems but I haven't spent much time with the FM1 socket or APU's.
-
that's with sound and everything I was just using f11 it would bounce between ~95-~102%, it was just a quick and dirty mame setup no option's set or anything just D3D

Like I said i had no hicups just buy intel its in a different league then AMD. Here is a system under $400 minus the hard drive no need for anything else. best bang for the buck, i wouldnt waste time with any hard drives, prices still way to high use and older one for now Runs every game that is 100% playable http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.864873&cm_sp=DIY_PC_Combos-_-864873-_-Combo (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.864873&cm_sp=DIY_PC_Combos-_-864873-_-Combo)
You can actually buy the i5 2500k at micro center for $179.00 but i think it store only purchase and even cheaper with mobo combo yikes!!!!!!!

That combo you linked is $462.00 and you have to take the SSD to get the full discount, your also missing a PSU which is going to add another $35-$100 depending on the quality you go for. As for my hiccup's I've already found that it's the old HDD i was using, it was a 1st gen 1tb WD green 5400rpm drive, I'm now useing a seagate sata2 7200rpm 500gb, and no longer have hiccup's i'm re-installing driver's and what not but I've figured out now how to O/C the APU and am sitting at 3.2ghz on the stock cooler at 38c idle, needless to say i have no more hiccups.
-
So at 3.2ghz you are able to run blitz/Gauntleg/sfrush @ 100%? If so that's great news for the APU platform.
Like I said i had no hicups just buy intel.
Although I am running a 2500k now I used to run AMD systems all the time and had no issues with stability.

That's the deal that I got -- ended up with the 2500k and a x-fire ASRock for like $245.
-
Looks like at stock timings he was able to run it at 100 percent. Interesting.
-
yes at stock speeds it would run between 95-100%, O/C it stayed closer to 100% the majority of the time I got this combo in the hopes of saving space/money over a normal CPU/Video card, as it sits now i'm more or less happy with it, but if I were to do it again I would just get a standard CPU and video card i've been running into nothing but problems with this APU everything from the system just crashing, to failing to install windows I had re-install windows something like 5 times last night.
-
That sounds suspiciously more like a memory problem. You might want to run Memtest on it to see. It "could" be the memory controller on the APU or even the motherboard itself, but, in my experience, that is somewhat of a more rare issue. Certain motherboards are also pretty finicky about the memory you put in them, too.
