Hi,
I was just finishing a PC joypad hack for my latest project, and I had a thought. If I can use a PC keyboard with the Xbox 1 (via joyfrag) and a PC USB mouse with XBMC and Coinops why cannot I use a USB gamepad with the Xbox1?
Is there a way to get the Xbox1 to recognize the PC gamepad for CoinOPS?
Google is not helping either.
Thanks.

never heard of it.
there is no drivers on the xbox os to run it.
keyboard and mouse is one thing but third party non microsoft controller support I have never heard of.
you could hack the pad to the keyboard or trackball to mouse and use them as a coverter if there supported.

I was just thinking out loud. I thought since the Xbox is just a crippled Win2K shell there might be some support for HID support like keyboard and mouse.
But you would have to write the driver, and I do have the Xbox SDK, but I am not good at writing drivers... ;D Its taking me a frickin month just to write a game. :lol
I haven't seen anything on the web either.
No harm in asking.

I don't see it happening.
The only reason keyboards and mice work is because the debug tools for the xbox already had keyboard/mouse support so they just used those. I've gotta think m$ specifically left out hid joystick drivers to keep third parties from making controllers.

I'm thinking about using an xBox 1 pad hack for a CoinOps + PC mame project. There are xbox 1 drivers for windows. The same is true for the 360 padhack + Windows. I just wish the 360 controllers were magically backward compatible with the xBox 1, that'd be awesomeness.

safe to say these cheap usb encoders wont work either??
