I'm looking into a Bar-top "weecade" clone however i want to do it out of a hardwood IE "oak, maple, ash". I want to build 2 of them 1 for vertical and 1 for horizontal and it would need to be wide enough to house controls for 2 player 7 button layout IE "Capcom 6+midway 7". I only need the wood cut and routed I'm able to assemble myself. I'm willing to pay in advance for all materials, shipping and your time after a cost sheet is provided. Payment will be made through Pay Pal only "protection for you and me". If your interested you can reply here or send me a PM. Since I'm wanting to build this out of such expensive materials I would like to see some examples of your work if possible.

no i want to do a routed rounded edge.
Brian74,
Yea i saw that and was very interested in it but I'm fairly certain that use's MDF,MDO or some other particle/composite board I'm looking for straight hardwood construction i'm not going to use artwork it's going to be a stain and varnish finish. also i'm not going to use a 4:3/5:4 monitor i'm going to use 22" 16:10 monitors.

Have you tried reaching out to local wood working shops? To get a nice routed/rounded finish on the sides you'll be going through quite a few house hold bits for a regular wood worker. A shop might be your best thoughts since they can do a super professional job for probably a similar cost as a home built. The only problem with a shop is you'll need to present them plans unless you want to pay them to help you design it.
The other possibility you have is to hit up some CNC boards. Those gents have super powerful machines capable of doing what you want and every damn one of them is chomping at the bit for projects to just use their CNC machine. Biggest time consumer there is designing the plans in CAD and then G-Code transfering it but a good CNC guy can do that no sweat.

I wanted to use Plan #5 from this websitehttp://bartoparcade.katorlegaz.com/ (http://bartoparcade.katorlegaz.com/) only widened enough to accommodate a 22" 16:9 LCD horizontal and increased height for 22" 16:9 vertical
"edit" After having looked around some more BobA's bar-top plans are exactly what i'm looking for, I would just need them modified for 2 player and a 22" widescreen LCD vertical and horizontal http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=67679.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=67679.0) post #4
if it's not possible to get a pure hardwood build I would consider a composite/hardwood laminate. It's not that I don't have the wood-working skill to cut wood myself, I just no longer have the tools nor the space to do so, renting or buying the tools would be just as or more expensive as paying someone to cut&router and ship it to me.

Just glancing at the plans it looks like the sides are around 24x24 with the same for the back. If you go with 4/4 stock that is approximately 12 board feet for each of the cabs plus some extra for the marquee, control panel, etc. Call it 25bf total for the project. I typically pay about $5.50 for cherry which is what I do all my projects for myself out of. You're looking at $140 in just wood, not counting time and shipping.
