After some years of lurking here, im more active @ the Hyperspin forums i was jumping around on ideas for a cab.
should i build a Global VR 42" cab, a Vewlix or should i build a bartop. well i want to start out with a bartop for my first build so i know what ill be doing when i start her big sister.
The build will be based on the Weecade bartop cause i like the shape of that one.
The bartop will have:
A asus motherboard with 4G of ram with an i5 processor and a 1TB drive
Front-end will be Hyperspin (offcourse)
6 RGB buttons per player plus the menu buttons for the HS menu
19" Dell monitor
emulators will be arcade based only
MAME
Naomi
Atomiswave
Taito Type X plus X2
i bought all the wood already but havent cut everything yet but i did most of the art already but dont know which color sheme i will take.

Thanks guys  im choosing between the white and the blue, leaning more to the blue.
@ ritchie i'm following your build over at the Hyperspin forums, im stealing the back of your cab :lol nice buildand its coming along nicely, im gonna use a asus‑P7P55D motherboard not a small one that why i made the bartop a bit deeper so it can fit. i need the horsepower for the newer aercade emulators

I had the measurements from tiny arcades.co.uk, from a kit they sell. but had to add quite a bit to all dimensions to fit a full size atx board and full size power supply plus gfx card...
Just some info on the back panel, you'll need to modify your psu if you only want one power lead into the back of the cab, I soldered the moniter lead to the incoming terminals on the psu. Either that or have the psu inside and just run a smartstrip..
I'll be posting some more pics up soon, as just completed spraying it up...

I love the artwork, only thing I would change would be to add color to the word PARTY so that you can see the beveled edges on the lettering.

I think the blue looks better, because its provides the best contrast with all the game name texts. Also, blue in general just works a lot better as a background color. I agree with Unstupid about the white PARTY text. Although it works on the side art (probably because ARCADE is larger), I just don't like it on the marque.

I'm really liking the artwork too
Not 100% on the MArquee - it's skinny and limits options?
Are you able to incorporate the stripes from the sideart???
Maybe it's the beer talking - but could you mash up the fonts from some of the sideart marquees.
You've got a heap of letters for Arcade Party in Arkanoid and Paperboy, pacman etc
For what it's worth - I like the blue - reminds me of Donkey Kong!
Peace

I really, really like that side artwork! That's the nicest custom side artwork I have ever seen! They all look great, you can't go wrong on any color! Any chance you could allow us hacks to download a version (ai preferred)? Good luck!
