Title: Mounting a monitor

Not sure if this is the best part of the forum to ask on.

I'm putting together a cabinet at the moment, it's a flat pack with an almost non-existant assembly intructions. But I've managed to get the shell together.

But my next step is to mount the monitor, which is a Dell 19" LCD, old style 4:3 ratio.

My 1 and only plan at the momemt is to bolt the base of the monitor and only a piece of wood, then screw it into the cabinet, like thus (please excuse the poor paint drawing)

Not sure if this is the best way, but it certainly seems the easiest to me, but I'm open to suggestions or hints on how to do things better.

Also whats the best way to cut a monitor bezel? The 1 that came with flat packs is too big for the cabinet.

I'd take the stand out of the equation and just use the vesa mounting holes on the back of the monitor.  flip that piece of wood 90 degrees and mount it to the side walls and then mount the monitor directly to the piece of wood ir to a slim wall mount like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VKCIJU/ref=oh_o04_s00_i00_details (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VKCIJU/ref=oh_o04_s00_i00_details)

Might ask around my tele shops and see if they sell any, really want to get this monitor fitted this weekend.

Well I got it in :)

Couldn't get a flat mounting plate, this thing cost me £35, amazing some of the prices they charge for mounting brackets :dizzy:

Wood cuts a bit bandy, didn't *exactually* have the right tools for the job.
Next step is to cut the bezel to size and fit it.
What's the best way to cut the bezel, use just a stanley blade. Also I have no idea on how to hold the thing in place.  :dunno
