There's the Beef: Wendy's Takes No. 2 Spot From Burger King (http://www.dailyfinance.com/2012/03/19/theres-the-beef-wendys-takes-no-2-spot-from-burger-king/?test=latestnews)

I've been telling people that Wendy's sells better quality food for years, but nobody listens.  Glad to see it finally getting some recogniton.  Hopefully it will eventually take the #1 spot.

It would make me very happy if McDonalds was reduced to a 10th string restaurant to go with it's 10th string food.

Wendy's has always been #1 out of the big three in my opinion.

Only thing McD's has going for it is name recognition.

McD's food creeps me out.  It's almost completely artificial.  Burgers get a "secret sauce",  their fries aren't even made out of whole potatoes, nuggets are mechanically seperated chicken parts formed in a mold and held together via an edible paste (no joke!) .... their fish are square, their chicken has nasty orange flavoring all over it......

I'm not asking for a 5 star meal, but I do expect to be served actual food when I eat and not artifically flavored junk.

Yenome:  I love their chicken as well, that's what I usually order.  They seem to be the only place that can get chicken right, and that included chick-fillet, ironically.

How you can screw up a chicken sandwich, I don't know, but Chik-fillet has figured it out.

+1

Although I prefer Hardees (or Carl's Jr.).

McD's food creeps me out.

It cleans me out.   10 minutes after eating a BigMac, my bowels do a spontaneous purge.

I can seriously eat like a pig and tip 20% at an awesome TexMex restaurant for what Wendy's costs me.

McDonald's I can snag a decent salad and diet coke for $6.  Same setup is $9 at Wendy's.

Wendy's, oddly enough, was very popular in the USVI when I was growing up.  They had awesome gasp-inducing view restaurants on St. Croix and St. Thomas.  Both closed now.   :-\

Sure man, but a TexMex restaurant isn't fast food... you are paying extra for the fact that you can get it in a minute or two without leaving your car.  Also, I'm not sure that heavy junk qualifies as food either.  Maybe once in a while, but I definately couldn't eat it regularly.

Yes, McD's salad and coke combo is cheaper.... but of course at Wendy's you are getting an actual Salad and Coke as opposed to a a lump of chemically enriched, wilted, lettuce, dried up tomatoes,  5-year-old cread crumbs and coke-flavored water.  ;)

There is an expression... you get what you pay for.

The best example of this:  Taco Bell.... their food is by far the cheapest.  Of course it all balances out once you add in the cost of three rolls of toilet paper, new underwear, new pants and a steam-cleaning of your car's seat.

+1 +1 - Carl's Jr. is the bomb.  Wendy's is okay but I find that it depends on the location.  I've had Wendy's where it was worse than McD's and I've had Wendy's which was on par with Carl's Jr.

I'd be all about Wendy's if their fries weren't so unbelievably horrible.  Might just be a central new york thing, but I've never gotten fries from a Wendy's that I would even consider edible.  Just soggy, nasty, lukewarm ugliness.

But lord...that baconator...might be damn near the pinnacle of human achievement.  Find a way to batter-dip and deep fry that sucker and I'm ready to die happy.

Must be where you are.  Here, the new Wendy's fries are soooooooo goooooooood.  Most of the time when I get them they are too hot to eat.

Dude I always laugh when people talk ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- about Mcdonalds, but its number 1 for a reason. How many items can you get for a buck at Wendys now!? They raised their prices on everything, their chicken nuggets were superior, but now they are 1.50. Their fries with the sea salt taste pretty good, but what PBJ said, they are super expensive, almost on par with Carls Jr, and their stuff is flame broiled.

I think Mcdonalds food is delicious when it comes to fast food. I prefer In n Out over everyone, but there isnt one close to my house, and there is a Mcdonalds. Granted I dont eat it often, maybe once a month if that, but it still tastes good. Whoever says they dont like a bigmac is a liar because Mcdonalds gets a bad rap and they dont want to be judged for eating there.  :P

Me and a buddy once had a "Big Mac attack" at a McDonalds...  we were spazzing out, convulsing on the floor, gasping out "Biggggg Maccccc", just generally acting like idiots.

The manager thought it was so funny that he gave us free food for weeks.   ;D

What about 5-guys? Do they count as fast food Because I used to be all about In-n-out animal style. but Five guys is superior in every way plus their fries are way better.

I will occasionaly go to carls Jr. or Taco Bell (perhaps twice a year each) other than that I don't prefer to eat fast food at all.

In general I think most of the food tastes somewhere in between meh and kinda good...but I always feel a little sick afterwards...and I don't feel good about eating that crap.  I'd just rather buy some beef and grill up a burger myself.

The Wendy's fries were disturbingly awesome in San Antonio last summer for about 3 months.  Now they suck again and this is across multiple locations.  My size 2 wife eats a double cheeseburger from Wendy's at least once a week.   :-\

My gf does the same thing, except she eats a ton of mexican food, never goes to the gym, and maintains her size. Im wondering if she does smack to compensate :-\

The 5 guys down here SUCK. And they are WAY overpriced, then again, so is everything in CA.

Oh man...loved this place in Kingston.  Used to go there all the time as a kid, using the ferry from Cape Vincent to Wolfe Island, then another to Kingston...hit the bars on Princess St, then we'd always end up at Harvey's.

Raising Canes (a chain that started at LSU), Five Guys, and Chick-Fil-A are probably my favorite three.

I have been digging Smash Burger Lately. If I am going to pay $6.00 for a burger, I might as well go to a "premium" burger joint.

Five Guys > In N' Out

Are you talking about the cost?

Five Guys is ridiculous. They have a sign offering a Vegetarian burger so a vegetarian I worked with went in. It was just a bun cheese and topping.

Five Guys is too expensive for a fast food burger and there are much better “premium” burger places.

They don't have them near me, but every time I travel south I try a new chain. I tried What-a-burger and was seriously unimpressed. It might have been that one location, but they were just underwhelming compared to all the hype I was given.

I was just in Tuscon last week, and thanks to you guys, I decided to try Chick-fil-a. Damn, what a cool little chicken joint. I usually hate fast food chicken sandwiches as well.

Well, the one in San Diego sucks at least.

I had what a burger in Texas. Tasted just like a Rallys.

I've found that just about any fast food burger improves immeasurably if you chunk a little season salt on it have been drinking.

Whataburger is actually my favorite burger. Their fries and catsup is also at the top of my list. Back before I lost 100 lbs, I used to eat there regularly.

Five Guys is expensive, but look at all the toppings you get- bell peppers, jalapenos, onions, etc. In N' Out gives you a big chunk of lettice, a hunk of onion if you request it, and some Thousand Island dressing mixed with mayo and catsup. And I don't really like their fries. Good if you're hungry (we stop at the In N' Out, ironically, on the way to San Diego), but it wouldn't be my first choice.

You can get jalapenos at in n out, you just have to ask for em. Dont want bell peppers on my burger anyway.  ;D No dude you need to get whole grilled onion, pickle, and extra spread. Man, it rocks SO hard. The whole grilled onion is a slice of onion that they put on the grill for just a minute or so. Its not a super sharp onion taste, but they dont over grill it like they do the grilled onions, its a great balance. The fries are good if you eat them right away, after awhile they get gross. Dude next time youre in SD you should hit me up!

their fish are square,

Careful . . . Something about this reminds me of Wendy's. I can't put my finger on it, but it seems like something at Wendy's is unnaturally square.   :P

McDonalds is so ---smurfing--- garbage. Everything there is just gross (except the Sausage Egg McMuffin which is actually gross, but paradoxically also super good. This includes the Big Mac. I don't need three buns. Or another crappy hamburger patty. A tomatoe would be nice, though. Where the ---fudgesicle--- did these guys learn to make a burger for christ's sake?

Wendy's is lightyears better than McD's. It's still pretty terrible. I liked Five Guys burgers the first time I had one, but I've liked them about half as much each time I've eaten there. Their burgers are always swimming in grease. And their fries are some of the worst I've ever had. Thin and soggy every time.

Best chain burger I've had in a while is Shake Shack. It's a pretty small chain, though.

I think I'm spoiled because My Five Guys is relatively new. It's been there maybee a year. The first one I tried in virginia was just OK, Part of the appeal for me is I like all the toppings on my burger. I have it just about dialed in. I don't think it's expensive considering I can just eat one burger and get out of there for $5 or so. In-n-out I have to get two (since I don't get fries and it really only is good because of animal style. I'll have to ask for jalepenos next time to see if they have them. (Mmmm, Spicy)

The fries at 5 guys are awesome. Nicely seasoned, always hot and crisp. They are also made from actual potatoes like in-n-out only better in every way. Plus one order is enough for 3 people.

I think if I ever bothered to get a Mcdonald's cheeseburger I would love the taste but would feel sick afterwards. Go figure.

I've never been a fan of BK or Wendy's. But I did go through a phase where I went to Carl's Jr. The quality was pretty inconsistant around here though. One day it was amazing and another it was meh. I don't go anymore.
