Title: got a wg 7000 with a problem
Post by: GMZombie on March 17, 2012, 10:53:18 pm
Have a wg7000 that everytime it gets power the fuse in the chassis blows. I just recaped it and it was working fine then I must have shorted a wire to the metal part of the chassis when I was moving wires around and pop. It blew the fuse and now it always blows the fuse. Where do I start?

measure D19-23 to see if they have shorted.
test your H.O.T. Q11 to see if its shorted.
test C36/38 to see if there shorted.
test your VR, IC4 to see if its shorted.

if any of those parts show bad in circuit. pull them and test again.

I had, (still have) a WG25" K7000 that would blow the fuse everytime.  I was able to diagnose the flyback and HOT were blown (flyback literally blown out the top, and HOT is shorted)
