Title: Arcade monitor degaussing connector
Post by: steveggz on March 17, 2012, 12:54:26 pm
I disconnected the degaussing coil connector on the monitor's main board so I could access one of the adjustments but now that I want to put it back on I realised that I didn't pay attention to which way it went.

Its basically two red wires from around the monitor to the connector and two pins on the board.

It can go on both ways but the connector has a groove in it that seperates both holes and one side from the seperation is bigger than the other. The input holes are the same size as are the pins on the board. That is whats worrying me. Why would the degaussing coil connector be shaped that way if it didn't matter which way it went on?

I have a 29"(27") Makvision arcade monitor model m3129df-ts

You can plug the degauss coil in either way.

I wonder if your monitor has the same degauss coil connection as mine (I've a 29/27" MakVision/Wei-Ya tri-sync flat screen CRT).

You see, I am currently trying to remove the wire for troubleshooting, but I can't move it an inch without bending the entire board. Did you have to do anything in particular to unplug the coil or did you just pull it straight out?
