It simply has no rival in terms of ergonomics, sensitivity and all round killer looks.

No joystick does everything right.
IMO, you gotta give your favorite games priority and pick the stick that works best for those.

Is Lew bored at work today ? ;)

One Joystick to rule them all? My money is on a Jakks tv game joystick haphazardly mounted to a control panel.

^ What exactly is that joystick supposed to be? Why are it and the little kid with the pageboy haircut both smiling the same way? Should I be offended?

That reminds me, I haven't seen Porky's in years......

You, my friende, have no kids. And I, sadly, can answer this question.
It's a map! A Map? Yes, a MAP!

I have kids... and if that's a map then I'm Susan B. Anthony. I know a pork sword when I see one.

It's not a joystick, but there is nothing better

Apparently that glove also gives you an epic tan!

Atari best for all games

Quit bragging.

No ... Wico best for all games.

Nothing is best for all games as that includes 4-way, 8-way and analog games.
Any 8-way stick that uses a rubber grommet is going to be an excellent all around stick.

Looks like Nintendo threw up on this room

Cheating always ensued when anyone used that thing. :lol

Atari sticks seem pretty versatile.

What game is that guy playing? It looks like a track and field type deal, but he has his feet on both player's sides on a couple of non intuitive locations.

Track and Field, but the pic is staged so you can see the Nintendo wording in an interesting location. LOL

+1
Fighting games: Sanwa JLF, Shooters/Shmups/Bullet-Hell: maybe a Seimitsu LS-40. Gotta decide for yourself what you're going to play most. If you're making a cab I'd recommend making several crumby test panels with all different kinds of parts and layouts before the final one.

I think I just threw up in my mouth as I was scrolling through.....too funny.

That Genesis one looks like playing on a controller with your left hand and an arcade panel with your right. Isn't that schizophrenia?
-
That red one looks Identical to a "speedking" joystick - a hand-ache inducing legend of the commodore 64 days. I seem to recall It used to advertise the fact that it used ground-breaking things called microswitches.

Had to comment on this one. I don't remember that stick, but I remember 2 other commodore sticks, &, as generic arcade sticks, they rocked! I remember playing 'elite' and turning the stick around to make using the other gun mounts on the ship easier to use. I'm sure there are an army of others who remember that trick.
