Cool.

Wow, isn't it amazing how nobody came up with this idea before. Way to go Nintendo, I continue to loathe you.
It's not like there would be such a device (http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=126&products_id=813&) for any other system, before this one. ::)

also, a lot of companies are researching bluetooth, which would be awesome for handheld gaming.

i would say screw blue tooth its proven itself nearly useless why not just use 802.11 its propagated enough in alot of areas and the chips are cheaper than bluetooth and it has higher bandwidth
-
Why not go into cell phone channels ;D, towers for them are popping up every place, EVEN in the WOODS!!!
They would be like cell phones EXCEPT you cant talk like a traditional cell phone, it would be more of a messenger service sorta like technology from the "N-Gague" but striped down to a level for clipping onto a GBA or the Soon to come "PSP"
Just Wondering

Doesn;t that nokia/sega handheld use bluetooth?
-
yes the ngage uses bluetooth, and so do tons of other things including a lot of new cell phones, it works up to 30 feet.

Blue tooth is much cheaper to integrate into a device, its smaller and consumes less power. Also depending on the device its range is greater than 30 feet. How much bandwidth do you need? For some of these devices bluetooth is perfect.
