Title: Ultimate Arcade 2 control panel angled cuts ???
Post by: gavinshull on March 10, 2012, 11:31:34 pm
Hey guys I'm looking for any info out there from people that have built the UA2 cab themselves. Right now i am building the box for my control panel. Doing all my angled cuts and i got my box created, now i see i get to do another angled cut on the top of the box but not sure where it is angled to. Looking at it i would think all but the bottom cut closest to me is angled from outside in and the closest long cut would angle away from me. Anyone verify this for me?  Thx in advance.

Looks like nobody out there used the control panel from the book ..huh? Posted the sheet with all the cuts i am doing right now if that helps. If not i may just move to a more common 4 player design and grab another sheet of mdf and try something else.

I have not made one but it seems to reason that all the angled cuts on the sides are to make the 3 pieces on each side fit together so they are all on the inside and on opposite sides of the R and L identical boards.   The cut on the top is just to angle the cp and depending on the drop you want from back to front will vary as stated in the book.  The are just to cut all the boards so the slanted top fits flush all around the CP.

It is a bit of a difficult build for a CP.  A 4 sided panel would be much easier but if you already have the sides cut do a tape up assembly before doing the top angles and will be easy to see where the angled cuts go.
