So my next project will be scratch building a set of PS3 fighter sticks using the toodles axisdapter. I would like to get your recommendations for joysticks and buttons. All I have experience with is the u360 and ultralux buttons on my MAME cab, but the u360 won't work, and I'm not trying to light the buttons. What does everyone think? What goodies will help me dominate in SF4/SFxTekken? :dunno

Just beat me to it, +1 for sanwa for fighting games. I use the sanwa jlf series stick with an octagonal restrictor pate and I would highly recommend it. Can't comment on the buttons because I don't use sanwa but I wouldn't hesitate to put then in a fighting stick judging by how much i personally like the jlf joystick, and how much the buttons are universally liked by most fighting gamers.

The SANWA JLF sounds like a winner, but do they make buttons for wood CPs? If not, what's a good second choice?

You can route out some of the wood, and use the Sanwa screw in buttons, like this:

Edit: beat again.. Damn slow phone typing
They do sell threaded buttons in addition to the snap in buttons but I'm not sure if they are long enough for wood cp's. I guess it really depends how thick your control panel is and if you have the ability to route the bottom out if the threads aren't long enough.
In my 3/4" wood control panel I'm using happ competition buttons with the 20gram? Microswitches. One reason why i chose them is because i wouldn't have to buy a new hole saw :)
Like I said i haven't tried the sanwa buttons so I can't compare to say how much better/worse the happ competition buttons are but I do like them.
