Title: Can you ID this mouse hack?
Post by: paigeoliver on March 06, 2012, 04:26:46 pm
Ok, I have this little fellow in my parts box. Obviously a mouse hack. I KNOW I didn't do it. I must have bought it from someone or pulled it out of a machine I got from someone. Likely something someone used to sell here or at least commonly make here.

Anybody have any information on this hack, the pins for the mouse buttons are obvious, but I am not sure about the other ones.

Those are optical sensors... Probably use to be a ball mouse, so i'm guessing it was used for a trackball of some sorts?

I guess what I am really hoping is that someone else has this same hack and can tell me the wiring between this board and the optical sensors on a spinner or trackball.

I do not know whos hack this is but the connections where the light sensors were soldered is probably like this:

Trackball vertical phase 1 and 2 to outside pins of one header and +5V to the middle pin.

Trackball horizontal phase 1 and 2 to the outside pins of the other header and +5V to the middle pin.
