hey uys i finally got a trackball for my cab
got a wico 3"
made a interface from a mouse if i dont plug in trackball then it will recognize it and show standard mouse on ps2 port
if i plug trackball in though it wont work and wont see it as a mouse anymore?
any ideas????

It sounds like you could have a short somewhere, or the opto circuits in the trackball aren't mixing well with your hacked mouse. What I would try is just hooking up one opto from the mouse and the other from the trackball and see what happens.
Good luck!

well it kinda works now i think mouse im using is a no go so im off to order either usb interface from happ or an opti pac
any suggestions on which?

Go for the Opti-pac. Andy has some great products and he is a very hands-on seller. I have had a few flawless transactions with him and he is very worthy of doing business with.
Good luck on your project.

I agree, go with optipac. It has more features than the happs and is a little cheeper. The only thing the happs has is three buttons per trackball, but the optipac makes up by letting you have two trackballs (with two buttons per), and/or 4 spinners (with the equiv of 1 button each).
I have both a USB optipac and a USB happs interface, and can't tell the difference between the them when playing TB games. Oh, I have a wico 3" TB, and yes it works on both.
