I'm trying to setup mame with mala and having a problem with no games in the main game list. I get the standard mala page but with no games. It gives me a pop up box which says "no games are in the main game list of this emulater, mala suggests you update the game list". If I click yes, mala freezes with the "please wait...collecting games" box up.
When I bring up the drop down menu in mala, it says "emulator not running". I guessing this is part of the issue.
mame by itself seems to be working fine.
Does anyone know the answer to this?
Thanks!

It was the middle of the night - some of us sleep. :P
Check your MALA settings and make sure it's pointing to the correct folders. Check this thread for more info: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=83570.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=83570.0)

It's still not working for me. I went through the directions on the link you sent me. After this step:
Click the OK button at the bottom of the MALA Options window now. This should result in a window popping up indicating “Your configuration has changed. Refresh main game list?” ....... just click YES and wait for MALA to refresh the gamelist (ie: reading in all the ROM file games). After this completes, MALA should be displaying the MAME gamelist with MALA’s default background image.
mala displays "please wait! collecting bios ..." and it locks up there
Ok, it finally displayed the full game list, but when I select a game (that i have the rom for) nothing happens. A command prompt window pops up and leaves, but it happens to quick for me to read what it says.

Ok, it looks like a drivers update fixed the problem. Thanks for the help, Dave!
