I watched this on saturday mornings when i was a kid. It was a fun cartoon from what i can remember. Although i do remember being a bit disturbed when the ghosts got pacman. He became a bit mangled.

Ha, maybe I will get lucky and they will put it on Netfix. Always thought Mezmeron would be a good band name.

Wow. Coincedentally last night my son pulled up Pac Land on the mame cab last night and the music instantly made me think of this cartoon. I had completely forgotten about it and had to go to youtube to find the intro. And now it's mentioned here on DVD. :applaud:

Use to get this show in NZ, but my stand out memory of this show was 'Christmas Comes to Pac-Land' Special, which I watched with my little sister Chritsmas Day 1986. Good Memories, I found a bunch of hanna-barbera Christmas specials years & years later, and now as a Christmas Tradition, this is one of those cheesy 80s cartoons that we watch at Christmas time with the kids.

The reason they released season 1 is because Disney is working on bringing the cartoon back in 2013. Sounds great except that it will be in 3D!

WOW!
Disney owns almost everything in one way or another. I'm waiting for the day when I wake up and see "Owned by Disney" tattooed across my face.

Well there are three actually. Disney WB and Sony/Viacom.

Comcast / Universal /NBC is trying to become #4

They are certainly trying, but the flaw in that is that they only own the mostly garbage networks that are nbc, syfy, usa, g4..er esquire, ect...
Kings of crap is what they are. ;)

Not the worse thing in the world as it's the only way some of this niche shows can be sold on DVD. I hate when they release a season of an old TV show, it doesn't sell, and the remainder never gets released. At least this way, they're not worrying about unsold discs and can offer further programs like this without the risk.
Warner does this with a few titles ("Urgh: A Music War" in particular) and they're actually fairly decent. (EDIT: Just noticed Pac-Man is also part of the Warner Archive series.)

Oh, a reply to my comment from a year and a half ago. :lol

A lot of good shows will never get released due to licensing issues. Perfect Strangers will probably never get a full release because the guys were always singing popular pop songs of the day. The same goes with MST3K.

Hehe, I didn't even notice the date. Corybee's fault! :P

That's the other big issue. It's why you'll never get a proper release of WKRP (only horribly butchered with changed music) or Muppet Babies or countless other shows that didn't have the foresight to think about the home video market (which, in all fairness, wasn't a thing at the time - nobody was buying seasons of shows on VHS.)
Of course, lack of demand is the other obstacle that is helped a bit by burn-on-demand services.
-
Wouldn't surprise me at all if those are out there fully packaged on the homemade home market.
-
Did someone say homemade pac man?

Muppet Babies might have a chance now, since Muppets and Lucasfilm are now under Disney. I don't remember what all clips or whatever they used from other stuff, but the biggies are covered.
-
I still doubt it. Muppet Babies stole clips from a TON of stuff, not just star wars. I mean Johnny 5 was even on the show at one point. Also if I'm not mistaken there were a few sesame street clips on there, and SS has been a separate entity for decades now.
-
^It's obviously been a while since I watched it. Like, when it originally aired. My memory is a bit fuzzy.
-
I'd kill for some high quality Muppet Babies.
That may be one of the strangest things that I've typed.....

Okay. Here you go. I hope this will be a no questions asked kind of kill.
