Been mulling around ideas for a cockpit version of various games that didn't have one.
How does this look?

Any other ideas? I thought Moon patrol would be awesome but I am really thinking vertical games for some reason.

A different angle.

You going to build one or what? I like the look.
-
Looks impressive, if you have the time and room go for it

Here is a terrible idea I just had to see for myself. Probably wasted 2 hours reworking the artwork to fit.

Space Invaders good. :applaud: The 2nd one (Circus ???) Not good. I take it you are using your Photoshop skills to see what the cabinet could look like.
-
Hee hee. Second one is Taito's Zoo Keeper. I just decided I would search google images for side art and use the first result. Which ended up being Zoo Keeper. Wasted like 2 hours reworking the artwork to fit the cabinet.

I think a cockpit Solar Fox would be cool...
what was that cockpit originally, that you are photoshopping? It seems quite compact.
-
crazy climber in a stand-up cockpit with vertically mounted joysticks. :lol
-
You should post the original, and we could have a contest to see what the best/funniest design would be.
-
Here are a few ridiculous ideas that could be ridiculous cool (except for the second one, no saving that one)
Samurai Showdown in a mini pagoda with four sparing pads that you have to kick or hit to register button hits. Two on either side of the screen and two below. Put the microswitches for movement in the floor DDR style.
Boonga Boonga cockpit... that doubles as a vibrating uh massager...
Superman in a telephone booth.
Monster Bash in a coffin/mausoleum.

Superman in a telephone booth.
Hmmm...this one has much potential.

Original is Missile Command. Here they are with no artwork, should save you a step.
The side view for the easy job, or the angled view for the more advanced project!

How about a Robotron Environment cab?
What we need is a version of Mame or Mamehooker that lets you poll parts of the screen for output, then have an RGB LED array around the cab that fills the whole space with color cycling on level change, and maybe a few subwoofer tactile inducers under the floor:

Are you planning to convert that cab, or build a new one based on the same design? Missile Command cockpits are pretty rare...
-
I do not own a Missile Command cockpit nor do I have any intentions on buying one.
Actually looks easy to build though.
-
2 player variant with dutch oven skin please

Gotcha. Yeah, it does look like a pretty simple (and elegant) design, and more house-friendly than most cockpits.
I went to high school with a Paige Oliver. She was hot...

I like something space oriented since you're sitting back while you play and looking up so to speak. Are you going for retro specific game artwork or anything that looks cool/fits. I for some reason just get a good feeling about Descent 1 PC game artwork on it but if you are going for retro that wouldn't fit.

I don't have time to throw it together right now, but a cockpit Lunar Lander would be awesome.
