Title: Mame errors on every game

I have Mame setup and it will play my games for about 5 mins and then it errors out and shuts down on me.  It does this with every game, every time.  Any ideas what I need to fix or what I can check?  Thanks for any help.

What kind of errors are you getting? I think we need a bit more info in order for us to help :)

The screen goes black, the sound screws up and it kicks me back out to windows, where the screen is usually turned 90 degrees or more out of whack.  Then it gives me the option to send a microsoft error report.  So basically what happens when anything freezes or screws up on your windows based computer. Occasionally the game will play more then just a few minutes but it eventually happens everytime I try playing something.  Most times I dont make it past 5 mins of game play.

Are you running an Intel video chipset? Do you have a blue monitor icon in your system tray?
There is a hot-key combination for rotating the screen 90, -90, 180, -180 (i believe ctrl-alt-arrow) on some Intel video chipsets.
Look in the settings to see if you can disable that, I bet you're sending that combination of keys to it.

I had this on Mame 140.  Every game just did a twisty jig on the screen and terminated.

Could not find the error, checked everything twice.

Have you tried using a different version of mame?

Need a little more info on your setup, please:

1.  What version of Windows are you running?  (XP, Vista, 7 - 32, or 64-bit)?

2.  What version of Mame are your running?  Are you using a command line version, or a GUI version?

3.  Does your ROMset match your version of MAME?

(Can you provide a screenshot of the error message?)    :dunno

I think this could be the issue.  I disabled it and I havent had a problem yet.  Im using an ipac for my controller.  I have windows xp, mame 144, some of the roms are from 143 some of them I dont know what rom set there from. I will provide a screen shot if it happens again, I only tried a few games really quickly. 

Now the other issue I have is I dont know if people can answer or not since it has to do with roms.  Is there any version of killer instinct 1 or 2 and nfl blitz for mame that work. Ive dled roms and chds and I still cant get these games to work. Ive tried getting dling multiple versions still with no luck
