So I got up at 0'Dark-Thirty and drove my happy self down to middle of nowhere Florida to scrounge around this old vendor's warehouse. I had planned on bringing back a Star Wars cab but the two cabs he had were in sorry shape and had been severally gutted. No boards, no monitors, the wood was coming apart in my hands. Still had some stuff I wanted... and I found some other stuff too. Some of this stuff I am not experienced with but felt like it would be a good project to fix up and that it could be really needed by somebody if I could get it fixed up. Hindsight 20/20 I should have taken the time to pull the wooden monitor mount from one of the SWs but oh well, it's a looong ass drive.
What I got:
2 Atari SW Yokes: One in bad shape, one in meh shape. Between the two I can combine for one working and some assorted parts
2 SW Shrouds: One with perfect decals one with peeling decals. Plan on making a mold of one for possible production - that project is not happening anytime soon tho.
2 SW CPs: Both need new decals. One worse off than other
1 SW Marquee glass (found in a pile of nintendo CPs)
1 SW glass - filthy, will need to determine useability
1 Coin door - rusted, don't know why I'm a glutton for punishment.
1 TRON CP with encoder for spinner - CPO is pretty much toast and rust has crept in on the trigger stick and CP metal. Needs beaucoup TLC.
1 Atari Soccer CP with dual 4 inch track balls. Both have all both encoders. One spins freely and other is all gummed. Both need a good refurb.
Pile of Atari volcano pushbuttons. Some reds, some blacks, one green I think. Silver and black cones all in various states of filth.
I'm fairly pleased. Any tips for where to start no some of this stuff. I need to research USB boards for the TRON panel and Atari trackballs (thinking I'll split these up). I have the link for the SW Yoke USB adapter saved somewhere.

With fuel and food I'm still well under $500 for the day so I felt like it was a pretty good outing considering I had to do 12 hours of driving. I don't know what everything is worth based on the condition but I'm more excited about seeing what I can get working.

That's really cool.

Don't forget putting 600-700 miles on your vehicle has costs other than gas!

Looks like I'll need to pick up three opti-pacs. Over on mike's arcade he has these (http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=AGSTBINTUSB) but I think they only work on the 3 inch and smaller new style trackballs. Anybody had experience with this? It would save me some chedda.

Slow :applaud: for my homie Chuck!

Just ordered a dual strike sidewinder from amazon for 9 shipped. I'll give the dualstrike hack (1Up's I think) a go. Getting in that board to hack away at will motivate me to do the rebuilt on the yoke. I figure I'll get it set up in a plug and play box while I work on other pending projects before attacking a dedicated cab build.

some parts? Good haul. BTW. If you could scan in the bezel stickers that would be great...there doesn't seem to be any available.

I got them from here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=98344.msg1092584#msg1092584) when I started planning my SW Cannoo Mini. Can't remember which file it was, labeling seemed a bit wonky. They are 310mb. If the link is down or you can't find them I'll try to get them hosted somewheres so you can grab them.
I wish I had known what I was walking into and I would have been a bit more prepared. Guy must have had 100 different CPs all stacked up. All he does is rip out the boards and CPs and pop in a multi-cart and toss on a poorly made two player 6 button setup and sells them all over FL. Next time I go down I'm bringing manuals so I can identify controllers and boards. Lots of stuff but I wasn't ready to tell the "OMG I can't believe this is lying here" parts from the "meh, take it or leave it parts". I really wanted the SW boards and was hunting a few others but he had a row of shelving 20ft long, 8ft high filled with boards and nothing was labeled. I would have to have spent all day in there and just didn't have the time on the ground.
All that aside I am pleased with what I got away with. I am really looking forward to rebuilding one of those trackballs. I am currently hunting a 4.5 inch clear acrylic ball to replace the black so I can rig a light show but am coming up bingo so far.

I've been told that a store like Tap Plastics carry more options than what you would find on their website. Seems strange, but I've called a few times for something I saw on their website and I found out that they had other options. 'cept they still don't have Fiberglass clear coat without UV "protection" and they still don't offer extruded acrylic with UV coating.
