Title: Cabinet Design
Post by: bgandy on February 19, 2012, 07:39:56 pm
I am in the planning stages of my arcade now.  I would like to know what is the easiest way to run N64 games and MAME on the same machine?  Anyone else doing this?

There's N64 emulators that run on PC.  I'm running Project64.  You can either emulate the controller on your control panel, or plug it in using adapters (installed on your cabinet).

if you have your emulators setup correctly, you can use a front end like Hyperspin or MaLa and they will take care of the switching between them and that way is docent break to flow when going from your make game to a N64 game.

Word of caution, though.  You may not be very happy trying to emulate some controllers with an arcade control panel.

I might be looking into some ports for things like N64, where there's an analog and digital joy and additional buttons.
