Title: Amazing arcade rescue on derelict ship
Post by: Epyx on February 14, 2012, 04:59:53 pm
Wasn't sure if this had been covered or if it should go under restoration as technically it was a salvage ;)

Either way amazing rescue of some classics...well worth the scan of pics alone:

I hope the games were free cause the cost of fuel for that trip + the tunnel would be enough as is!  Cool story though!

Don't know whats more amazing, the documentary of the score, or the score itself. I'm pretty sure in EU that is a mega score.

There is no other way to sum that up than what was posted in that thread...

That was a cool story and rescue. The whole story of the ship and how it came to be the "funship' is really cool too. These people went through alot to get that ship there.

Very cool.  Great find!  The ship looked pretty bad ass too.  Almost like Nuclear Fallout bad ass.

That legendary thread image is a keeper.  It was a funny payoff after going through the story for me.  Someone needs to PS it pixelhugger style to show "Nolan Bushnell Approved" or something.  I have no idea who Coach Mangler is.  Anybody?

Those guys are Serious - I don't know how excited I would be to do all that and have the payoff be a dedicated Condor with no pcb's.  In another thread the poster was storing a 6 seater Galaga theater machine in his attic and basement.  Probably needs 200sf of floor area when it's all set up.

Indiana has a serious lack of cool abandoned ships with old arcades in them.  :'(

I would love to have a boat like that.

I wonder what the cost is to maker her sea worthy again?

Oh, my... Tailgunner cockpit... Haven't seen one of those since the old Alladin's Castle in the Dothan, AL Northside Mall (arcade and mall both long since RIP) a good 25-30 years ago.

DROOL...
