Sweet Fatality skills.
-
I recently saw two other projects that were identical to this. And when I say recently, I mean today...
-
The cool one was cool, but I'm not sure if the awesome one was awesome.
-
so what's the specs on this beast?
like the monitor, system etc.
-
*sniff**sniff* do I smell meme cooking?

It looks well build, good art, good execution but poor design in my opinion.
I think that the monitor size to bezel size is ridiculous. Even more so when you realize that the CP is a good 6 inches off the deck. If you made the width of the cab to match the width of the CP, put the coin button on the CP box rather than below it eliminating that entire elevated platform thing, and get a monitor that wasn't scavenged from a netbook (or at least was close to a decent size in relation to the build) I think you'd have a great little cab. As it stands now, me no likey.
Best of luck on your sale.

Good points! If I build a second one I'll take that into consideration. As far as the monitor goes, I used a mini 9" TV, the reason being the plug-and-play controllers that I used for the arcade game itself would only plug into a TV outlet (and I wanted to keep the design as simple as I could). I was considering getting a larger TV for the arcade, but decided not to based on the overall size the cabinet would have to be, which would defeat the purpose of building a miniature arcade version of MK. I tried to keep the overall design and "feel" of the full size cabinet yet make the arcade machine portable and roomy enough for two people. Thanks for looking!
I get where you're going, but I think you've hit middle ground between mini and bartop. Really it's the full size controls that getchya in the bind. They need real-estate but you were committed to a small form. You could keep the wee tiny tv and get smaller hardware to hack into those TV controllers and you'd hit the balance, or blow the whole think up just a bit more and get a nice looking dedicated bartop out of it rocking at 15" or 17" screen. Welcome to the forums by the way and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

You definitely need a bigger screen. Try finding a scratched up laptop that is 14" or so and replace it with what you have in there. I'm not to jazzed about the control panel, but if it works..... ;D
Nine inch TVs are great to put into a project, but if you can replace it with a LCD you can make it more "mini".
Nice job on the artwork and video.

super mega widescreen monitor ughh. That's my only criticism. With a better sized monitor I think it would be great.
-
I checked out the thread where you posted still pics. Lose the red tape man, especially if it's going on ebay. Nobody wants to buy taped edges. Sand them down round and paint them if you can't do T-molding.
-
Maybe its just me but does the game look like its running super sluggish??
-
The good: Your artwork looks good, it doesn't look like a weecade.
The bad: Your t-molding looks like ass (is that t-molding?), Too much black space in the bezel.. use a 4x3 monitor and put it in the middle, the construction on the CP looks like crap, why is the lip on the front so much bigger than the lip on top of the CP, why no t-molding on the CP? Where are the speakers? does the marquee light?
-
so what is in there for the game and system running it?
is it a emu console arcade boards a genesis etc.

my guess is a jakks. had blood and fatalities so its not Super NES, but the graphic didn't look as shrunk down and dithered as the genesis version.

Jakk's. Mentioned (or at least described) in the video.
