I recently purchased an Ultimate 4-way joystick. Overall I'm pleased with the results, but I was wondering if there was a way to make it more responsive. If not, it's not the end of the world, they just aren't quite as sensitive as my Supers, so they feel a little different.
Also, the way I currently have my setup, I have my soundcard running through my receiver and then to the speakers over monitor. I've been having problems with a "buzzing" sound. It's odd, when I turn the volume all the way up on my desktop, the buzzing gets quieter. When I turn the "Line-In" all the way up, the buzzing gets quieter. Is there a way to get rid of the buzz completely?

1. ultimates are not commonly used on these forums as they aren't as good. I'd bet that bending the microswitch level actuators in some way would do it... but I don't know how.
2. I'll bet that the buzzing is from a bad/frayed audio cable connecting the speakers to the computer. The louder the soundcard outputs audio, the (comparatively) less the buzzing is. Try replacing that cable (try to FIND another, rather than buying in case it doesn't solve the problem.)

Ultimates don't have lever actuators . . .

what kind of speaker do you have ??....
I have those 3 piece speakers....
a base... and 2 small speakers...
I have a little buzz before...
and it turns out that if I put the base unit too close to the computer... maybe some magnetic field feedback or something will cause a little buzz sound.... (don't know if your buzz is the same buzz...)
so... I moved the base unit a little farther... and no cables all over the place and the buzz went away....
hope it helps... ;)

Yea, I know the Ultimates aren't most peoples first choice, and wouldn't have been mine had the PacMan joysticks not required a mounting plate. Overall I can't complain, I just wouldn't mind if they were a little more responsive.
As for the speakers, they are KLH surround sound speakers (as I'm running the sound through my receiver). I do have a subwoofer, but it's not anywhere near the computer, so it couldn't be picking up noise from that. I do have the wires running along a lot of other wires (it pretty much looks like spaghetti behind the receiver), so it may be caused by that. ???
