well I got it working somewhat.
need to check b+ voltage since I can't adjust width.
but I was able to play a game but forgot to take a pic
screen is nice and clear but forgot a pic of that too.

I skipped over a lot of stuff but i'll get to that later.

Title: A new width kit
Post by: DamagedGoods on February 15, 2012, 05:25:42 pm
I plan on turning it into a Taito Space Invaders Part II.

After adding everything in the G07 Deluxe Repair Kit I was unable to set the width full screen so I ordered A width kit.
ended up using the smallest chicklet in the bag  (104k)
I ate the rest and they weren't as good as they looked.

the tape on the screen is below the score and game over burn in.
This must have been run like this for a while.

Edit: looking at the pic I notice it's not perfect yet but close enough for now.
right side is curled down a bit.

I had planned on always getting A cocktail and throwing A pc in it.
but now that I have one I can't and won't do that with this.

Title: Monitor chassis location
Post by: DamagedGoods on February 15, 2012, 08:14:32 pm
stiil trying to figure out where to put it.
it was on the left side and now it's on the right.
but I've seen it also in the center against the front.

also where to find a bezel for the 12" square opening.
I found A pic of A carnival cocktail that had same 12" sq opening.

red line is where it was green is how it sits now, blue is where it might end up.
need more room on left for at least 5 boards (2 games) that are too long to lay down with jamma adapters attached.
Title: goodbye Arkanoid.

Arkanoid ready to ship out.

second pic is of the tinted plexi sitting on the monitor.
need to drop it down about an inch or more.

and the home made brackets holding up the monitor.
plan on adding some tabs that drop down to attach to the tabs on monitor.

on left side this screw isn't even attached to anything but the tab.

somebody tried to make these fit by cutting with a sawzall.
in first pic these are flipped so look at outer edge in center of bar.
holes closest to edge were the ones holding it up.
Title: monitor adjustments
Post by: DamagedGoods on February 17, 2012, 09:48:40 pm
made some z clips to lower the monitor about an inch.
yea I know a c clip is easier to make but I just love making z's.

I then tried adjusting the screen again and ran into a little problem.
R525 burst into flames.

anyone know what size resistor this is on a g07-fbo

Edit:
Found it 10K Ohm 1/2W Flameproof Resistor. :laugh2:
Title: resistor ?
Post by: DamagedGoods on February 20, 2012, 08:07:38 pm
just wondering before I check.
is this resistor part of the horizontal circuit.

maybe I was too far out of range with the 104k chicklet.
224k was close but 104k was too much and left very little adjustment. (bottom text was a little off and maybe top)(vertical game)(need to get pcb with a test pattern. konami board?)
gonna try the 224k in series with the 334k and see if that is cool with r525.

btw I'm not one to wait for an answer so it will most likely be tried beforehand.

just figured I'd mention if you smell something burning it may not be just because you cleaned the board.
be sure to check the temp of everything after disconnecting the power.

R420 cooked itself.
am I gonna be going back and forth to the store to get resistors?
if so this is never gonna happen and I should probably just set fire to this.

Oops... the pointy ears threw me. :-[   I made sure I had finished the back door of my mini-cab before moving it into the house for similar reasons.  All it took was seeing how the cat at the sign shop walked right in like it was his home when I picked up after having the sideart applied and I knew my dog would probably do the same, and possibly worse.  So far he hasn't paid much attention to it, but there's nice rubber trim at the bottom to chew on, and he has repeatedly peed on the floor where it's sitting now, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time.  :timebomb:
