Does anyone have a good layout for an arcade? I am working with a 10x13 space and the games I have are:
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr
The games I want:
Star Wars Cockpit
Sinistar
Defender
Joust
If anyone can help or make a diagram, that would be great. Oh yeah, I forgot! I have 2 6 foot couches I can fit down there. I also have a 55'' TV.
Thanks for your help anyone!

Download Google sketch up. You can then use this program to figure out the layout of your game room. Make sure you download the cabinet models from the Google digital warehouse that are authored by Gozer they are Accurate within one inch. He hand measures the actual cabinet to get the dimensions to create these models. If you need help on how to use Google sketch up there are tons of tutorials on You tube that will teach you every thing you need to know to use this program.

What you should do is ask people if you can borrow their classic cabs so you can see if they will fit in your basement.

You don't need couches or TVs in your gameroom.
The location of the door is pretty important, particularly when it comes to optimal location of cockpit cabinets (and pins if you get any of them), draw the room with the door in paint or something so we know what you are dealing with.
Also, Star Wars cockpit will run you close to $3000, while you can probably get a nice upright for $1000. If money is any issue than I suggest getting the Star Wars as an upright and grabbing a Sega Turbo cockpit instead (similar to Pole Position, way more reliable than Pole Position, usually goes for $200-$400).

There is a starwars cockpit near orlando for 600 but it's stripped. It would be a good refurb though if you have the internals laying about. As for all the others they have about the same footprint as your DK, give or take a few inches, so you should be able to tape off the room based on that so you can do a walk around. For the Cockpit just use the same measurement for width but make the cab stick out three times further and you'll be close.

The cockpit is indeed a hard one to place in smaller game rooms, although it gets a lot easier if the door is located in the right spot. Keep in mind that the coin door on a Star Wars is on the right side of the cabinet (or passenger side to use car terms).
Here is a quick sketch of what I did with a similar size room back when I had a Star Wars cockpit (deconverting them can end up costing more than buying one).

Um... Looks like the left side of the cabinet (driver's side) to me.

Oops, glad you caught that. My memory must be getting foggy.

You're both wrong and right. Starwars cabs are historically considered to be British and therefore right hand drive so the coin door is on the left passenger side.
