Title: MAME loading roms but crashing right away?

I have the latest build of MALA and MAME Ver 0.145

I when I try and launch a game in MALA, I see MAME load the rom... but then right when the game would begin to play.. it goes right back to the game list in MALA.

I have not tried to load a game in JUST MAME (just thought of it as I typed this )

I can make a video of this error if it will help.  Just wondering if this is a common problem.

All games or just some games? Perhaps the game you are trying to launch needs a parent ROM that is not there.

Or an updated one. Seems a lot of noobs are trying to run their front ends before running their MAME (and understanding how it works).

yes sir, all games.

I made a few videos today, and it looks like it was just that particular version of MAME that doing it.

here are the 2 vids I made. Hope it helps narrow down the prob..

Try loading the games only in Mame...(I think they don't work either, maybe wrong or missing roms)
I don't think the problem is Mala...

Yes, I think it is the ver of MAME I downloaded.

Can someone please explain the difference between the source code and the binary download on the official MAME page?
